Orbeliani Residence Hotel

My husband and I rented this hotel for 8 nights. We do not recommend this hotel. There has been no hot water in our room for 24 hours and the hotel staff cannot do anything. The hotel has a restaurant on the ground floor, and every evening you can hear loud music and loud voices of drunken guests. If you want to ruin your vacation, then yes, rent this hotel.

The location of this hotel is good, it is convenient for Tbilisi Old Town and has plenty of restaurants within a few steps. Overall though, it was a disappointing stay for us. We found the standard room we were issued to be ridiculously small - more of a single room with a double bed in it and there was no room to move. The air con was mediocre and the shower leaked badly. After an upgrade to a deluxe room, we were much more comfortable. Our experience with the reception staff wasn't brilliant, we didn't feel particularly welcomed, or that they cared in any way about us as guests. The serving staff in the restaurant were the complete opposite thankfully, friendly, helpful and welcoming and the food was pretty good and reasonably priced.

Maye this hotel had problems before so some guests left bad reviews. If so, they definitely changed. We didn't have any of the said problems in our 2 day, extended to 3 day, stay. The hotel is very clean, very convenient. The free breakfast is as good as any decent but expensive hotels can offer, and the staff are very friendly and helpful (considering their English proficiency). If there's one minor thing they can do to help, it's that the lights installed on the edge of the second floor balcony should have a cover to block the light coming to the second floor rooms. Overall, it's an excellent hotel.

The hotel is in a good location: an easy walk to the Dry Bridge flea market, several museums, many restaurants, Carrefour market, and a shopping mall. The compact room barely had space for us plus our luggage. It had the best shower of our two-week trip, with shelves for our use and dispensers for shampoo and shower gel. Our room had a mini fridge, electric kettle, and reliable WiFi. Breakfast starts at 8 am. The breakfast buffet included eggs, meat, khachapuri, cucumbers, tomatoes, yogurt, fruit, cheese, instant coffee, and tea. There is no elevator.

I cannot praise the hotel and staff enough. The hotels location is perfect to see Old Tbilisi and good for the rest of the city sites also. The staff were so helpful in every way. Anything we asked to be done was done extremely quickly. The restaurants food was excellent on the one occasion we ate there. The live music on the Saturday night was brilliant, the young lady was voice was superb. We had a balcony suite at the front of the hotel with a good view of the square and a small park outside. I would recommend to anyone and stay again

It's clean, the staff is friendly. But that's about it. The room does not match the description on the internet at all. The room is slightly larger than a shoe box. The desk advertised in the room description and the kettle are of course not available, as well as there would be no space for that. The breakfast doesn't satisfy you in any way, no cereals, no yoghurt, but bread from the day before and something is always scarce. I haven't noticed any jam either.

- the first day started with a wrong room allocation, so basically the rooms showing on booking are either not there in this hotel or its just misleading photos with booking.com
- since day one and since they allocated the room to me there was bunch of huge black plastic bags thrown on the way to my room and i was thinking its a matter of an hour or 2 but it stayed till i left the room after 2 full days.
- the first morning i have called the room service and i asked can i get water please, they replied (we didnt get the grocery today)
- in a simple word, the breakfast is just a joke. first of all i have never seen a breakfast in any hotel that starts at 9:00 AM as its usually all over the world 6:30 or 7:00 AM, the breakfast for the whole hotel is about 4 tiny pieces of omelet and not single kind of cheese until we asked (guys can we have cheese)
- in the same first day during the breakfast i have asked a simple question (can we have 2 cappuccinos) the reception guy said sorry we dont know how to do it and the guy who makes it will come at 12:00 so i have asked (so shall i wait till 12:00) to have a cup of coffee ??
- in the second day it was disaster, till 9:10 the breakfast wasnt even ready and the same omelet plate with some tomatoes and cucumber, but this time the lady who makes the cappuccino was luckily there but the funny part that the rude reception guy came to me and my wife and said coffee is not included in the room rate, just tea !!!!!
- never the less when i decided to end my stay in that horrible place i packed my staff and my wife was holding her dresses on 1 hanger (yes 1 peace just a hanger) and as a kind of honesty at my car i called the hotel and i spoke to the same rude guy who wanted to charge me for the coffee and i asked can i get one hanger he said (sorry its not possible).

i dont think staying in such a disaster horrible unprofessional place is healthy by any means specially if you are thinking to relax..

horrible experience. never again
