Laute Straße war deutlich hörbar in der Nacht
-Handy shared kitchenette on each floor: Clean sink area with a microwave and water filter, so you have unlimited drinking water and a place to wash cups/dishes.
-Good for longer stays + remote work: It feels like a “coworking hotel” (a bit like an adult hostel), but thankfully without the strong socialising vibe. It was good for me if you’re working and staying for multiple nights (I stayed 8).
-Convenient laundry: On-site washer/dryer facilities.
-Quiet coworking space: The 12th-floor co-working area is clean, quiet, and the internet works well. There are many tables and outlets.
-Small but usable gym: Basic setup for a simple workout (treadmill, bike, kettlebells, medicine balls).
-Clean hotel overall.
- Strong in-room Wi-Fi.
- Decent location: About a 5-minute walk to the main Chinatown area, though around 10 minutes on foot to a convenience store.
-Can communicate with desk staff via Whatsapp which is handy
Prefacing this by saying I have worked in many hotel roles, from housekeeping to front of house management, including four-star hotels similar to this concept.
- There is no cafe serving food - contradictory to what it says online. There is a small coffee machine, and a vending machine.
- No microwave on the 12th floor kitchen, which is really the main thing everyone needs. Not sure who is really cooking in a hotel kitchen in central KL? So you have to keep going down to your own floor when working to use a microwave. Otherwise the only people I saw using the kitchen were staff. So it's like a staff and guest kitchen together.
- No dumbbells in the gym - weird.
- If you’re on the back of the hotel there is a constant generator noise from the building next door. If you are a sensitive sleeper it might drive you insane. I had to use earplugs.
- WORST PART - Room cleaning system is very disorganised and staff seem confused about it. After three days our room was still not cleaned at all and we had to ask a staff member again. Eventually they sent someone but they didn’t even change the sheets - just emptied the bins, swept the floor (no mopping) and changed the towels. The housekeeping is VERY basic. We stayed for 8 nights and only had sheets changed ONCE, which is TERRIBLE for a supposed four-star hotel.
- After booking the hotel, I got spammed with emails every other day about the upcoming stay. It was all trash written to try and be familiar and friendly, but clearly using AI, and typical of these large hotel groups trying to create a boutique feel - but it’s actually super phoney and corporate. They also try to make you download their hotel group app which is annoying.
-It’s not a smart TV and there are barely any channels.

What made our stay perfect:
Excellent Facilities: They offer a self-service laundry (wash & dry), which is a lifesaver for travelers.
Prime Location: Just a few minutes' walk to city attractions and the MRT station. Getting a Grab/taxi is also super easy.
Room & Amenities: The room was well-lit and spotless. As someone with long hair, I was thrilled that the hairdryer was powerful!
Baby-friendly: They provide filtered water, which is so convenient for families with babies to drink or boil water anytime.
The staff were incredibly warm and helpful, answering all our questions with a smile. Highly recommended!

We felt very comfortable in the Lyf. We had a room with its own kitchen, which was nicely decorated, clean and quiet. Especially practical was the own water filter. The staff is also very friendly and helpful. The property offers a practical laundry room and a small gym, very convenient!
Furthermore, the location is good to walk to the various attractions.
A shortcoming was that the air conditioning was attached in such a way that it blows you directly into bed. In addition, the bed could be a little bigger.
We thought it was a pity that there was no real breakfast offer. The breakfast consists of pre-packed boxes, which do not offer vegetarian/vegan options, which is why we did not book the breakfast with it.
Unfortunately, there are also many single men on the street near the accommodation, which was sometimes very unpleasant for me as a woman.
The staff at the reception and cleaning were very helpful and accommodating. There was nothing fancy about the set up but it was quite efficient.
