Perfect
Pros:

So, for the cost I was not expecting much, bit, the staff were amazing, we were met with a complimentary drink, ok the building is old, but ensuite and bour poster bed was great...and the breakfast was cracking, freshly cooked full scottish..all in really pleased, and would recommend

Ok, the place is old and a but rustic, but we didn't care

Excellent hotel
Pros:

Central location, nice bar downstairs but no noise in Room which was very spacious and clean. Cooked breakfast was added bonus as for overall price I expected only cold option

Great hotel , clean , lovely breakfast !
Pros:

Lovely stay and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. Great breakfast too we checked in late as came from another hotel and they were very accommodating. I will be staying again when I’m back visiting my son at the barracks !!

Pros:

Exceptional warm Scottish welcome! More like being in a family-run guest-house than a hotel. Every member of staff was extremely friendly, including the energetic young black Labrador who acts as part-time barman in the lively pub, where I have met many friendly locals. Breakfast delicious, generous and perfectly cooked. The Carlton is not a modern, soul-less hotel. For someone like me, who appreciates genuine heart-felt hospitality, creaky stairs and old prints on the walls, it is full of old-world charm and character. I have been in the hospitality industry for more than thirty years, have traveled the world all my life and built and operated a 200-room hotel. This was not my first stay at the Carlton and I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Forres. It is not just that I appreciate a comfortable stay, I love staying there just for the enjoyment of being there. I look forward to my next visit.

Cons:

It was a bit difficult to work out the hot water in the shower but it was not the end of the world.
