A well positioned family hotel close to the historic sites. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable, though we never did find the TV remote. WiFi is patchy but there are many networks to try.
Breakfast was good, though try to avoid peak times as there are limited staff.
Big tip is to avoid asking for laundry here as it was very expensive - $21 for a small bag of smalls!
Amazing, cosy and friendly little hotel in the old town of Bukhara. Staff were brilliant, could not do enough and brough us tea and coffee whenever we sat down in the lovely open courtyard. Olim was absolutely lovely! Rooms have a/c so comfortable and lots of places to sit and relax.
It's situated in a lovely old merchant's home I believe with a beautiful courtyard and very attentive and helpful staff. The breakfast was nice and they were always wanting to serve you coffee or tea in the afternoons in the courtyard at no extra cost. I don't think that you will find a more helpful staff anywhere!
This inn in the heart of old Bukhara is utterly charming....with every need of a guest anticipated in the beautifully appointed guestrooms. It is not fancy or pretentious...more like authentic, lovely with traditional architecture, clean, and exceedingly well run. I happened to get sick at the end of my stay there, and they brought trays of wonderful soup or breakfast to my room, checking on me to make sure I had what I needed. Their kind staff completely blew me away. Highly recommended, perfect location too.
You must stay here while in Bukhara. First the location is simply the best. You are steps away from historical sights, restaurants and all Old Bukhara has to offer and yet you are staying in a quiet oasis. The rooms are well appointed, spacious, modern and clean. The courtyard is a wonderful retreat for breakfast, quiet reading or writing or afternoon tea. The staff are wonderful, accommodating and attentive. The breakfasts are well prepared with fresh fruit, and fresh jams to accompany the wonderful Uzbecki bread. You will not be disappointed.
It's a well managed place, clean with very helpful and efficient staff, right in the middle of old Bukhara
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in this small family run hotel in the middle of the old town when I was working for 5 weeks on an international mission in Bukhara. The rooms are large, clean, beds are very comfortable and breakfast lovely. The owner and her staff know how to make guests feel at home and they are very helpful. I will definitely come back, and highly recommend the hotel.
The location was fantastic, right in the center of the tourist center of Bukhara. Everybody was super friendly and helpful. The rooms were comfortable and spacious and the courtyard was perfect for breakfast. The wifi worked best in the courtyard or the second story lounge area.
Such a sweet, charming Inn with an equally sweet and charming owner and employees. Lovely rooms and beautiful courtyard for breakfast and just relaxing. Great location in the old part of town. Highly recommend.
There is probably no more pleasant stay for a tourist in Bukhara than around the old pond of Lyabi Hauz. To the 'Salom Inn' it is hardly 100m meters from there through an arch onto a pedestrian alley. The hotel is in an old town house with a lovely courtyard, where one can sit down and relax and where also breakfast is served (for colder times there is an indoor breakfast area).
My room was in a corner of the first floor, thus I had the privilege of windows on the side towards another alley. I was glad that I had booked a twin room, so I could profit from the unused bed as a storage place, since that was missing. There were some hooks on the wall with metal cloth hangers and also two drawers, but full with blankets and bed covers (completely useless in this season). What I liked was the old ceiling with beams, the carpets and the well sized bathroom had shampoo and bath gel dispensers in the shower. Also the bed was comfortable.
In the evenings one gets asked about the preferred breakfast time, which is served as of 8am. Fruits are brought, usually melons, then bread, margarine, slices of cheese, yoghurt and two very sweet jams. It was fun to watch that the wasps and bees always went for the quince jam, not the cherry. There is also a choice of omelette or fried eggs.
It was strange to observe that every time breakfast was served, with all the food, coffee cup and cutlery, never a plate came along. Was one supposed to smear the margarine onto the bread slice in one's palm? A plate only comes with the eggs, if one has ordered any. They have beautiful plates and maybe there had been a problem, that they got stolen. Even when one has hardly finished eating, the plate gets taken away without asking by a rather unfriendly lady, who also works at reception. The leftover food though can stay there for a long time afterwards. My suggestion to the hotel is to use cheaper plates and to leave all that stress.
The hotel is well located just a few meters away from the main square. Service was excellent. Both members of staff we dealt with were super professional and very friendly.
Breakfast is really good and way above expectations. Room was good but could get much better. Bathroom could use much improvement.
Overall, I highly recommend staying at Salom Inn for the location and service and for the breakfast too!
I had a a fantastic experience at Salom Inn. Every staff member I encountered, from Olim the friendly receptionist to Raeisa the hotel owner( very knowledgeable women about Uzbek history and culture who has been working in tourism since the soviet time and knows Bukhara, its history, artists and sites as her own house / I was privileged enough to have her as a guide which allowed me to better understand the historical, political and cultural changes - pre and post soviet - in UZ during the last 100 years, I really recommend talking to her when there), Azat the smart and friendly manager, Geila the experienced german speaking tourist guide and the cleaning staff Elmira who always greets people with sincere smile… were all very friendly and eager to help and made my stay unforgettable.
The rooms were clean, calm and comfortable with big windows looking into the beautiful green yard. The location is great with many nearby traditional shops and restaurants and only few seconds from the jewish synagogue of Bukhara ( A must visit place)! Salom Inn was the best guest house ever that I’ve been privileged enough to stay in and get to know the staff and few other fellow travelers and also make some good friends during my one week stay. Thank you and I will be definitely back again!
I can't recommend this place enough. Nice traditional room with private bathroom. Clean and warm in cold days. Aircon for the warm days works a treat. Nice and varied breakfast every morning. The amazing receptionists will help you no matter what your request might be, from train tickets to taxi, or even bringing you to the train station themselves. need a guide? Dilnoza is super friendly and knowledgeable and will tell you all you need to know about Bukhara and around. Also, ask for the best place outside town, near the necropolis, where you can eat the best Shashlik. They truly are the best. The manager is a gentleman and drove me himself to the station when I needed a lift. I can only say a big THANK YOU to everybody at Salom Inn. Amazing stay.
Hello from Australia.

The coronavirus pandemic has decimated Bukhara's tourist industry. Many hotels and restaurants have closed. Salom Inn is still open.
Even if there were no problems in the greater world, i would still call Salom Inn an oasis. It is steps away from the Lyabi Hauz, old Bukhara's center. That makes it an easy place to relax in after exploring what Bukhara has to offer. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable. Breakfast was filling.
I expect to return when times are more normal.
The Salom Inn has great location within walking distance of many of Bukhara’s tourist sites. It’s tree-shaded courtyard is a welcome refuge and a hub of the hotel’s activities. That said, the rooms are small. Most rooms do not have cupboards, and some don’t have space enough to open suitcases unless one puts it on the bed. Water pressure was low. There were notices in the bathroom to conserve water, but a shower took twice as long due to the low water pressure. Breakfast was served at the table - fruit and local breads, with a choice of eggs -fried or omelettes. What works for Salom Inn is its location and the charming courtyard. Green tea was available throughout the day. The courtyard also has a free water dispenser for drinking water which was useful as we didn’t have to go out and buy water.
The staff surprised me on my birthday with a piece of traditional Uzbek pottery! Not to mention the room was very comfortable and the breakfast delicious — we even had homemade jams and juices. It’s also a great location, just steps away from one of the top sights in Bukhara, the Lyaubi Hauz. My favourite place of everywhere we stayed in Uzbekistan.
It was our favorite accommodation in Uzbekistan. Tastefully decorated, clean, comfy beds, lovely courtyard, divine staff. There's a small bar in the courtyard, should you want a coffee, tea, glass of wine or beer.
It's a beautiful old house right in the middle of Bukhara, in an excellent position to visit the city. The building, with the amazing quiet interior courtyard, and the rooms, large, comfortable and well equipped, are an oasis of peace. The personnel is very professional and ready to anticipate every need of the guest. Our stay was absolutely perfect.
We stayed in the Salom Inn for 5 nights in June. The staff was wonderful. The hotel with lovely and decorated with local crafts. The rooms were spacious with large bathrooms. Breakfast was served in the courtyard and was very substantial. The hotel is on a charming side street just off the main square. Most of the attractions were within short walking distances. They can also provide excellent local guides, with vast knowledge about the culture, history and architecture.
This is a perfect quaint hotel situated in the heart of the old city. The staff goes above and beyond to make sure the guests are cared for. The amenities are modern and everything is very clean and decorated beautifully. All the items in the hotel room are hand carved/woven, which is a really nice added feature. We had a lovely time at this hotel and would highly recommend it!
