The inside of the lobby was beautiful and the stock was nice and attentive.
Maintenance was horrible. I had to switch rooms not once not twice but three different times due to the cleanliness in the rooms they were filthy. First room all the white sheets had these gray gross stains on them second room had the same issue plus the second bed. The sheets were yellow, and the second room literally had actual shit on the door knob of the bathroom door and the third room was no better. The headboard was completely disgusting. If you know what I mean so I had to wait about 20 minutes for maintenance to come and clean my room. I will say that the staff was pretty attentive. After the second dirty room, the manager walked me upstairs to the third room and seen exactly what I was talking about when it came to the cleanliness so how does she resolve the problem? She had maintenance completely clean the third room and then she refunded me one of my nights. I stayed at that hotel for three nights and four days.
Not as expected
The hotel didn't look like it did on line
Great property but needs rehab. Could be nice but not ready to be used.
Under construction. Gym equipment all broken. Pool closed due to unsafe water. Golf course abandoned. Halls being spray painted while guests walk around. And no one tells you that when booking.
Location was a little far for us because the traffic back to Miami was ridiculous but the i really enjoyed the room and the balcony.
The atmosphere was beautiful and the room was clean. Also loved the fact this hotel had a balcony to enjoy.
Our sheets weren't clean. Had to get new ones.
My recent 4-day stay at Chateau Mar Golf Resort Trademark Collection by Wyndham was unfortunately very disappointing.
I’ll start with the one positive: the lobby is beautiful and makes a great first impression. Unfortunately, everything after that quickly declined.
First, calling this property a “resort” feels misleading. The overall facility does not look like the photos online, and there is a noticeable old, musty smell that’s very prominent throughout the lobby and common areas.
More concerning was the lack of security. Late at night there was no one at the front desk, anyone could walk straight into the building, use the elevators without a key, and access any guest floor. For a hotel property, that’s a major safety concern.
The room itself was underwhelming and poorly equipped. We experienced:
• Very low water pressure
• A clogged sink
• No full-length mirror
• No microwave
• No chairs or seating area in the room
Another major issue was misleading room availability online. We specifically booked a double room with a sofa, which was clearly advertised on multiple booking platforms. However, upon arrival we were told those rooms are only available for extended-stay guests, not short-term visitors.
That should not become the customer’s problem after booking. The front desk attendant had no solution, the manager never followed up, and we were left cramped in a smaller room while still being charged the higher rate.
Overall, the property has potential, but poor transparency in booking, lack of basic amenities, minimal security, and unresolved customer service issues made this a frustrating stay.
Until these issues are addressed, I would not recommend this property, especially for travelers expecting the experience implied by the word “resort.”
My husband and I chose this hotel for a one-night stay after our cruise before flying home. We were genuinely excited to stay here because of the "Old Hollywood" history and the vintage artifacts displayed throughout the property. Unfortunately, the history was the only thing that lived up to the hype.
The only highlight of our stay was the woman at the front desk who checked us in; she was absolutely amazing and professional.
However, everything else went downhill from there:
Rudeness: The housekeeping staff was incredibly disrespectful. One woman mopping the floor nearly knocked my husband and me over and didn't even acknowledge us or offer an apology.
Room Quality: The rooms were very outdated and, frankly, dirty. It did not feel well-maintained at all.
I rarely ever leave bad reviews, but I was so disappointed by this experience. Despite the cool artifacts, the lack of cleanliness and the rude service mean I will never stay at this hotel again.
