nice room
the food menu only had three choices for the main menu.
Breakfast had to be chosen and paid for at check in
Feature room was amazing but shame train isn't still running around room. Huge bath and walk in shower and lovely garden view. Lovely meal in restaurant and liked being shown to our room along with being told the history of the room and the grounds/stream outside.
Not many extras apart from tea bags milk and coffee in 'treat' area. This needs to be improved. Grass needs cutting and grounds need tidying. If bringing a dog you need and paying £25, you need to add extras like dog bowl in room etc

Staff were lovely. It was our Wedding Anniversary & Laura brought us a bottle of fizz to our room.
Having to pay £30 for a dog is excessive after paying £168 for room only. Sadly no evening meal was available but that did not come to light until after we booked the room.
The blue room was impressive having a four poster bed though slightly odd having the bath in the actual bedroom. Our pink room was much smaller and had the ornate sink in the bedroom. Staff were friendly. Check in and out experience fine.
Mirrored bedroom wall and odd room layouts. The cooked breakfast was okay, but missed normal cold extras like yoghurt, croissants, etc. My daughter had what turned out to be a very expensive bacon sandwich. The blue room door handle was hard to open. Caffettieras in both rooms hadn't been cleaned.

Phyliss was wonderful. She made me feel so welcome. All the staff were delightful. My room and bed were very comfortable and quiet.

The hotel was a feast for the senses. Great colour schemes and themes rooms. Beautiful wallpapers and decor in keeping with the style of the hotel. Very unique and individual. We loved it!

Loved the quirkiness of the room. Decor and soft furnishings were sumptuous and very comfortable. Slept so well.
Grounds were stunning too.
Phyllis was very welcoming and engaging. She couldn’t do enough for us. She was great at regaling us with the history of the hotel when it had been a family home.

Wonderful, characterful rooms throughout the hotel. Individual designs and many of the fittings carried out by the owners and family members. Superb cooked breakfast. Superb staff who gave their time and shared some history of the building and previous uses. Loved our time here.
Unfortunately, the dining room was not open on the day we stayed, so check that when booking. We did know in advance and it was not a problem.
Beautiful hotel with sumptuous bedrooms. Friendly attentive staff too.
