Terrace House

Room on 3rd floor; no lift - this not clear at time of booking. Not easy with heavy luggage tho’ staff helped. Curtains difficult. No teaspoons for tea/coffee.
Food quality mediocre.

Room extremely small and bathroom tiny with nowhere to put anything... No shelves or storage. Door handle missing from bathroom door and radiator fell off the wall! Worst of all the loud thudding music from downstairs went on until past 3am and very hard to shut out the noise ... will never stay here again.

Not much sleep due to the noise from the nightclub located in the same building. The possibility of noise was mentioned in the booking confirmation email, but it needs to be mentioned before this point. I'm a light sleeper so I probably wouldnt have booked if I'd known.

VERY misleading business practice! They hide the true extent of the noise in the building. The place is a hellscape for sleepers, with noisy, unbearable party music up until 3:30 am. If you can spare a few extra pounds, I urge you, for your eardrum's sake, to book a room in a better hotel.
Hotel description states: 'At weekends, the Terrace Bar is a popular venue for live music, mostly mellow acoustic sounds and jazz, so we like our guests to be aware that there may be some music audible from their rooms until just after midnight on Fridays and Saturdays, however this has not proved to be a problem.''
However, AFTER YOU BOOK, they email you letting you know that: 'Please be aware that in the basement of the premises, there is a nightclub that operates every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday until 3:30 AM. This may result in noise that is audible in the rooms, especially during busy nights.'
Besides that, we were mistreated by a member of staff for arriving a little early and not being aware that there is no reception at all in this establishment. Finally, we were a bit concerned by the fact that all passkeys in the building ( for the gate, front door, and room) are the same, which hints at the possibility of all rooms having the same passkey. If that is the case, this is a serious security risk.

We understood about the nightclub but when it finished noise continued in our building people were coming in and out of eachothers rooms for most of the night?very disturbing for us.....6am foreign voices being rowdy.....no spoon to stir the coffee......toilet door handle broke and main door too.....overall a poor standard of sta7

Rooms are quite small.

Make sure to bring earplugs.... not the fault of the hotel but an event going on nearby meant thudding bass kept me awake until about 2.30am.
