Keep expectations to a minimum
Pros:

Its location

Cons:

- you can feel cold wind drafts through the door seal. The heater doesn’t quite warm up the whole apartment
- walls are thin. We could hear our neighbours downstairs stomping and moving furniture. Even when the baby was crying and being comforted. We heard it all.
- appliances are old, chipped cups, when using the kitchen sink, water splashes out and makes a mini pool around the sink
- we had to go buy dvd for in house entertainment, as it was only satellite tv available. Dvd player in the family room tv did not work, only bedroom

A comfortable well equipped budget base in Cowes very suited to short work visits… I will be back!
Pros:

I was looking to buy property on Phillip Island, so the Pod was a very affordable, comfortable base to operate from while looking at options.

Cons:

Basin in bathroom very hard to use if shaving or just washing your face. The plug also didn’t seal properly and all the water drained out in moments.
Maintenance needed!

Great value for money
Pros:

Good location. Bed was comfortable. Shower was hot. Enough room for one person for a few nights.

Cons:

As described was small. Would have been very tight for a couple for more days. Wardrobe door didn’t open properly as close to door to “balcony”, also would be claustrophobic for person sleeping on that side of the bed, possible to bang your head on the wardrobe while asleep. Need to wash your dishes in the bathroom, right next to the toilet.

Proceed with caution
Pros:

The property is comfy enough and in a decent location not far from the beach.

Cons:

The place is starting to deteriorate, paint flaking off the roof and lights flickering and honestly the cleaning crew are letting the owner down. There’s a layer of dust and grime on the tops of the flat surfaces and the couch is in DESPERATE need of a clean because it’s definitely seen some things as they’re dried up on the fabric. The doona looks like something recovered from the wreck of the titanic which is encapsulated in 2 clean sheets but when you’ve used the bed it starts appeared. The cherry on top was we were in a ground floor unit with the neighbours LOUDLY indulging in some morning delight. While this is out of the owners control just be mindful that noise does travel so if someone’s up there. You hear everything. Footsteps… “etc”

Family week Getaway
Pros:

The self contained apartments is situated in a quiet street 2.5 km away from the town centre away from the busy noise of the town centre where there is a heap of road works / construction happening. I stayed for a week and loved waking up opening the beautiful view of the pool and manicured garden. Addition there was small playground for toddlers (bonus). The apartment was nice and cosy with kitchenette ( cooktop, kettle, toaster and bar fridge) . Inside the cabinet plates, cutlery, pots and pans to get you going for a home cooked meal ( if you like). Bathroom was alright , had its interconnecting basin , mirror/ storage, shower. Bedroom - bed was massive and clean sheets with warm blanket. I had a pleasant sleep in. Lounge area was good with ample space to walk around- Plasma tv and a couch/fold out bed for sitting or sleeping.

Cons:

There’s just minor things that I would have liked that could have been provided. I stayed at Sea Pavillon apartments for a week with my husband and baby and we only had 2 rolls of toilet paper to get us through. There was no dish sponge to clean plates. I had to go out and purchase one although the apartment brochure stuck on the wall did state it is provided amongst dish soap, toiletries eg shampoo /conditioner etc

Pros:

The price. The bed was comfortable

Cons:

It was only big enough for one person. Only a double bed. The basin didn’t drain properly and the toilet didn’t flush with one push. There was mould around the shower base
