Superb
Pros:

The area was very accessible downtown and since we are hoping from one city to another, the bus terminal in SM Dagupan is so near you can walk. Also the staff are very accommodating!

Unreasonable
Pros:

I was not able to stay in this property due to their check-in policy.

The check-in policy and time. Hotel Don Raul
Reached out to property to inform that my arrival time will be a bit later since my bus leaves in the evening and it’ll take 3-4h to arrive at the destination. Property did mention that they can no longer accommodate my check-in since staff has already left. I requested if i can be granted access or key be endorsed to whoever since i will not have any place to stay and i will have to attend to a conference the following day. Property insisted that they cannot accommodate.

Checked if it’s possible to just cancel booking and request for fee to be waived. Property declined also declined request. I asked what time can I check-in (when staff is available in the morning - meaning I am willing to just wait at the bus terminal for a few more hours to dawn). Property said that i need to make a separate booking since they’ll tagged my booking as no show.

As i understand that reception services of properties may not be available 24/7, there must bit of meeting halfway for both parties. As a guest, i am willing to abide. Most importantly, took the initiative to reach out yet all possible workaround were outrightly declined.

The property looks promising and the owner is also courteous. However, if you think you’ll arrive at the property after 6PM, don’t book this property.
