Overall Rating: 2/5 (Disappointing stay due to fundamental comfort issues)
This review is based on a two-night stay in a one-bedroom condo at The Curve By the Park. While the property has several excellent aspects, the major comfort failings made the experience unbearable.
The Positives
First, the aesthetic appeal of the building's exterior is genuinely striking; it looks beautiful and modern from the street.
Second, the staff were truly amazing. Every interaction with the front desk and service personnel was pleasant and professional.
Finally, the two on-site restaurants were both outstanding and are perhaps the property's strongest feature.
The Major Problems
Unfortunately, the positives end there, and the issues severely impacted my stay:
1. Common Area Cosmetic Damage: The general maintenance of the common areas was poor. I noted cosmetic damage like broken doors leading into the pool changing room, unpatched holes in the walls of the stairwells, and multiple broken overhead lights, which gives a neglected impression.
2. Unbearable Heat and Lack of Airflow: The most critical issue was the heat in the apartment. Despite the Nairobi climate, the unit has no air conditioning (AC), and critically, no basic box or ceiling fans. I called the front desk, and they confirmed that fans were not an option.
3. Mosquito and Malaria Risk: To mitigate the heat, I tried opening the windows, only to discover they have no screens.
The view was spectacular, and for that I would consider coming back. The rooms were spacious, plenty of hot water, and having a microwave, stove, fridge, and washer/dryer was great. The area is very noisy, so bring earplugs if you're not used to city noise. The rooms were a little warm for our liking, even though it was cold at night outside. The shower was nice but the main showerhead only dripped so we had to use the shower wand, which was mounted just under 2 meters high, so had to duck a little bit. The room came with a water dispenser for 10 liter jugs which was wonderful. It's within walking distance of the mall which has an amazing food court, so that was nice. Security was excellent. Staff were all very nice though communication was sometimes difficult. All turned out well though.
Was good overall
very nice rooms good food at restaurant great beds and room well furnished. Very enjoyable and friendly staf very secure
Nearness to shopping center
Nice place but not coherently run like an entity
Great service
The Curve is a nice, upscale apartment building near the NBO airport. The unit was really nice and clean, quiet and comfortable. The shower clean with strong water pressure, hot temp. Was my favorite stay in all my trips to Nairobi.
It was a great place.
The dirty swimming pool I didn't like
Convenient for overnight rest before heading to the safari
Not actually a hotel. Wonderful clean nice apartments.. but not amenities..
Nice property
only needs Ac in the rooms.
This property was close to the airport and so easy to get to every landmark in Nairobi. I will be returning
I understand why many hotels in this area wouldn't have A/C in the rooms. But if you're not going to have it, for crying out loud put screens on the windows.
Leaving guests to get either eaten alive by mosquitoes or boil to death aren't great options.
The curve has spacious apartments, perfect for longer stays. The rooftop restaurant and bar have great cocktails and nice food.
Excellent room & service
Beautiful, spacious apartments near the airport (around 20 min drive). Not too expensive and very decent for an overnight or few hours going to or from the airport. Very clean and well appointed, parking available. Friendly, helpful staff. Quite nice food in the downstairs restaurant, little expensive. Pool area is run down and the pool is FREEZING! Still, nice after 5 hours on the road at the hottest time of year ;) Nothing in the area around, bit of a building site. Recommended for a short stay.
