We ended up not being able to stay here as our toilet was not functioning. However the manager worked with us and agreed to refund our non-refundable reservation and informed us that they will be replacing all of the toilets in the facility.
Way overpriced. The building is old and run down. It was the worse place we stayed on our vacation by far.
Loved the game room! Wish the fire area would have been usable and the TV in the room was exceptionally small. It was a nice stay though, just would've thought $70-$80 a night was more reasonable, not $140. Little spendy for what we got.
From the outside we were a little skeptical (old fashion motif). One step in the door and it felt like home. Warn, clean, and the lounge was PERFECT. We played cribbage and met some new friends. We will definitely be back! What a great little place!
Snow Chasers was absolutely on-point for all your snowmobile / UTV needs. Our (4) snowmobile couples enjoyed the common areas and easy access to our machines. All guests were on the same page; it was a very friendly place. While the rooms/bathrooms were dated, we found them very clean and functional.
There was a full kitchen for guest use but I don't know the rules.
• We thought it was a wonderful idea to have a self serve check in / check out as a hotel concept (a code is provided for the front door and room door)
• Very comfortable, clean beds within a dated building
• Was the perfect spot to catch a few Zs before carrying on a long journey
• No staff on site. There was a number to call if assistance was needed. However, we are Canadian and had no phone service within the area.
• My dad went to our car and was locked out of the front door (code expired?) and thankfully I didn’t lock our room door as I helped him back in, the room door code also expired…our stuff would’ve been locked in.
The beds were clean and comfortable and it was on the road we were traveling on.
The heat didn’t work. Turned it to 70 and it never got over 61. Good thing the bed was comfortable. The door into our room was really thin, like a closet door.
Music from ?? Other noise, TV?? From where? No other people at this hotel, no staff at all. Lights off until motion catches you to turn them on. Then quite dark. Feeling is a bit unnerving. No extra locks on room door, deadbolt or even a simple chain would have been a little more secure. Just not quite sure of the atmosphere!
It was our first time in the UP and the lodge was perfect. My wife and I loved, and spent most of every evening in the lounge area playing the pinball and dart games. If we ever make it up that way again, we will definitely be staying at the lodge. Even the couple that we came to visit didn’t know it was here and are getting there family members to stay there when they visit.
It was clean, comfortable, and very quiet. We appreciated the abundance of towels and the Keurig machine for hot cocoa!
I liked the self-check in. The room was clean and adequate. Not much around the property but this place is for those who are heading outdoors on adventures.
I liked the throwback era rooms lol those were great!! The 70s style was pretty awesome and nostalgic. Price was right and close to my destination porcupine mountains.. overall it was really a great experience!

Don’t let the bright photo of the lobby fool you. It is dark, dreary, and the common areas and hallways stink like a combination of smoking and no cleaning.
No coffee pot in the room, just a single Kureig in the lobby.
There is no front desk, it’s all self check in. No one monitoring who comes and goes. There is no security lock on the inside of the door
Not a family place, the best part was dawn, when I could leave.

An idea of who their customer base consists of is illustrated in a sign posted asking guest to help keep the linens clean by showering after a trail ride.

I really wanted to like this place however my room smelled horrible. The musty smell permeated through everything. The room itself was clean with a very dated avocado green bathroom. The self check in went great but there’s no visible staff. The TV only works if you have Hulu or Netflix. Convenient parking. My husband was packed & ready to leave in the morning in record time. Maybe it’s better in the winter when more people are there? The smell unfortunately ruined it for us definitely needs a good airing out.
