Could have done with some milk to go with a hot drink in the morning in the room.

If you stay in underground room, making sure you turn on the shower tab to run water for 5 mins to get rid of the unexpected smell. Secondly, making sure you use pole to close the skylight for privacy , especially if you are doing late self-check in. Thirdly, making sure you ask about the location of where the luggage room is so you can have a proper plan beforehand.

We were located near the front door (great as didn’t need to carry suitcases up the stairs) however a bit of street noise and other guests coming and going but with earplugs I slept well! Also a musty smell in the bathroom but just left the light/fan going all the time.

I don’t like that there is no elevator. The stairs are too narrow if you have a big luggage bag. The bed was uncomfortable.

There are a few things that could be improved:

Furniture: A small foldable table and chairs would be very useful. There is a kitchen area, but nowhere comfortable to sit and eat except on the bed.

Breakfast: The selection was mainly pastries and sandwiches. Healthier options such as porridge, granola and yoghurt would be appreciated. If we had known the selection in advance, we probably would not have booked breakfast.

Cleanliness: The toilet, shower and bathroom floor could have been cleaned more thoroughly.

Amenities: Providing slippers would make the stay more comfortable.

Security: There were no safes in the rooms, and only two shared safes on the ground floor, both of which were occupied. With so many rooms and guests, this arrangement seems insufficient. Individual in-room safes would be much more convenient and reassuring for guests.

No staff on site so you are entirely dependent on your phone. The app gets you into the hotel but if your phone battery runs out you have to find a way of, er, phoning the emergency help line. The online app itself was not self-explanatory and I had to use the AI chatbot to find out how the room key worked, where the breakfast was served and where the breakfast token was to be found on the app. I'm sure it will get better, but it isn't there yet. The breakfast itself was poor. It was delivered at a greasy spoon café 200yds down the road and it was greasy spoon level quality. Wetherspoons would have been better and cheaper.
