Very comfortable and well-appointed room. Good-size bathroom. Don’t be put off by the fact it’s a ‘love hotel’, it’s a comfortable and reasonably-priced hotel with free undercover parking.

H.A.C is a ‘Leisure’ hotel (AKA ‘Love Hotel’) designed for couples to escape the family home for some intimate time. For the price you pay you get a lot of extras - disco lighting in the jacuzzi bath; exiting looking buttons on the bed head (which I didn’t explore); and more extra toiletries than an Avon lady’s valise. It was clean. It was quiet. The bed was ridiculously comfortable. For my road trip stop, it was also right next to the expressway exit/entrance. There is nothing seedy about the place and high novelty value - more so if you are not traveling alone. But …
…after eight hours on the road, I was ill prepared for the room’s entry/exit procedure. Basically, in this hotel as soon as you close the outer door, you can’t get out until you pay using the machine in the room. I was tired and cranky and needed convenience store food and got a bit stressed when I found myself locked in. Once I worked out how to get out, I managed to communicate well enough with the duty managers who would unlock the door for me when I called using the room phone, without paying each time. Such good value, really, but you should be aware of this before you book it.
We stayed at this hotel during our trip to Sendai. Yes, we were aware that it’s technically a love hotel — but honestly, it has everything a regular hotel offers, and even more! In fact, it was more fun than many typical hotels we’ve stayed in.
The room was spotless, with a large bathroom and a jacuzzi. The hotel provides a huge selection of free amenities — from drinks in the fridge to English-language movies (yes, including some adult content, but we didn’t focus on that). There was even free on-demand TV with a variety of channels.
One of the fun parts was the massive collection of free shampoos and body care items. You could choose your favorites and bring them to the room to use.
The staff were kind and professional, doing their best to avoid direct contact (as is standard in this kind of hotel), but they were very responsive and even offered to deliver food directly to the room.
There was honestly nothing we didn’t like — everything worked smoothly, the atmosphere was private and comfortable, and it was a great value for the price. Hotels like this deserve more attention — don’t overlook them!
