Office staff was amazing and friendly. The room was beautiful and well kept. The only issue was the drain in the bathtub and sink was clogged and drained very slow. This was especially important when we took out showers. But I really enjoyed my stay and glad I picked this hotel.
Very nice place to stay. No internet, but that's ok.
The place is older; however, it was very clean and well maintained. The man in the office was friendly and helpful. It was, in fact, Idaho Springs.
This charming little hotel was lovely and Sam was a fabulous host. We had an issue with the room we booked and he more than made up for it. We look forward to staying here again.
The room and bed smelled clean however there was previous person's hair on the sink and underwear hanging from the bathroom door handle
Nice
In a very nice historical part of the state. older hosts, and property but was cozy clean and quiet.
The property was clean and comfortable but old, rundown and the outside was a mess with weeds growing, rotting wood and huge puddles in the parking lot. When we stayed there the was no TV or Internet. The interior decor was at least 30 years old.
No breakfast offerings, no ice, unsafe hair dryer, hair in one of the beds, television with no service, old musty/mold smelling room, and way too expensive for what we received in return. Will never stay here again. Can’t believe I paid this much for this room…will avoid Idaho Springs in the future
Historical lovely motel with very comfortable rooms and nice views of the mountains.close to the shopping centre and restaurants.Near historical museum .the owner is very friendly and nice gentleman.Highly recommend to visit this beautiful quiet safe place in Idaho Springs.Colorado.
Staff is great!
Nice basic accommodations. Old buildings but convenient to the town amenities.
Classic 1960’s motel but with a clean room and a good size refrigerator.
Owners were friendly and terrific. Absolutely perfect location in Idaho Springs
Very old motor hotel. I honestly do not think any maintenance is done here. Think of one of those places where the owners are older and don't have the energy to do any work and are also unwilling to pay for it. As a result, everything just slowly degrades: grout falls out of the shower, paint faded/chipped/flat out missing, electrical outlets worn out, towels worn out, parking lot full of holes, grounds overrun with weeds.
On the plus side the owners are fun to talk with and provide you with all the local folklore and recommendations you could ever want.
Bottom line? This is Idaho Springs after all. If you want the comfort/cleanliness/newness of a standard motel you will not be staying here. You will drive another hour to Denver or one of the ski towns. If you are ok with a (relatively) inexpensive room, and can keep your expectations LOW, the Columbine is on ok place for a short stay.
Unsafe place.
Easy check in! Great owner who was very friendly. The hotel was centrally located in Idaho Springs. Our rooms were spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The room decor was eclectic but fun! We would definitely stay there again!
Great family owned property in a town that's hard to find adequate lodging! Sam, the owner, is a gem and very kind and accommodating and obviously takes immense pride in his adorable mountain inn! Easy parking and homey rooms make it an easy option when traveling through Idaho Springs!
Got in late, and they had the room ready. There were some quirks, but it's a cute little place.
