Owners were exceptionally nice and welcoming. Annie makes a mean curry - delicious. Was accompanied by an ice-cold tap beer. The property is old and basic but clean and comfortable. Previous reviews on here must be by precious people with expectations that are way too high. It's cheap for a reason. But it's more than enough for a night or two.
The price
The accommodation was very average. Minimum facilities. Shared bathroom/toilets but at least we didn't have to go outside the building to get to these. I had intended to stay in Wagga, but could not get anything under $200. At $80 the Railway Hotel was a much less expensive option. But the price may be a fair reflection of the quality of the hotel/room.
Quiet off-street parking
No air-conditioning only a fan in my room
Location was fantastic.
didn’t stay the night...as there was an overwhelming smell of dampness & mould certainly was not expecting such below standards
Very cheap - you get what you pay for.
Lacks personal facilities, no facilities in the room (one single power point behind a bed) TV in common area was rubbish
Cheap and really lovely hosts.
All good for the cost.
Quiet, central, comfortable
Nothing, it’s not a modern resort but totally adequate .
The fact that the owner did refund our money.
Water pipe burst, so owners moved us on to another lot of accommodation which cost us more, even though they did refund our money. Ended up having to dive 15minutes in the middle of th night to new accommodation. Dining room was over crowded with junk and was not welcoming. Cold as the heating wasn't even going.
Was advertising private bathroom when it was a shared bathroom.
The food is amazing especially the home cooked curries.
the staff were amazing and the stay was great
We did not have any meals at the property. The location of the property was very rural and remote which we were aware about. I appreciated the contact from the staff due to my Husband and Children not being able to check in during business hours due to delays experienced in travels to the property. They were very helpful with arranging access to the property even though they were unavailable due to the time that they arrived.
We were very disappointed in the cleanliness of the property. The bathroom facilities were overdue for a clean. We found stained sheets on the beds with what appeared to be blood.
Fantastic hosts. Nothing was too much trouble. Made the stay very pleasant.
Bed was very old. Room had a literal boarded up doorway.
We were greeted by the manager when we drove up. He was easy going, pointed out the tea and coffee table, handed us our keys and that was pretty much it. A quaint and quiet space, spot on for a night or two.
Basic bathroom setup but the attention to small details, proper toilet paper, the dispensers for body wash and shampoo, little things that showed care.
If we were staying longer I would have definitely wanted to try out some of the dinner menu.
Parking around the back was easy, and the backyard had a pretty and tranquil feel to it.
I don't have the best back in the world so the bed could have maybe had something to soften the mattress. But I can put up with that for an overnight stay.
The double bed room could have maybe benefited from a power board or double adaptor. But again, fine for a night.
