Disappointed, expected more authenticity for the price

Location was lovely

Cons:

We were in a modern annexe, very tired, old fashioned facilities. Disappointed we weren't in main building, which had lots of character.Did not realise we had to pay more to stay in main building. Considering they were quiet, being offered an upgrade would have gone a long way to a better feel good factor.Dinner menu, mediocre. They had no draft beer. Too many staff at breakfast hovering, as soon as finished plate was whipped away. Staff seemed unsure of themselves.Fire doors were all wedged open in the annexe, felt vulnerable.

an excellent stay where we were made very welcome and looked after
Pros:

good breakfast with plenty of choice and well presented. we had a superior double room and it was large, comfortable and the en-suite was big, well equipped and clean.

High price for a dated hotel.
Pros:

Great location, quiet surroundings, friendly staff.

Cons:

Very dated decor throughout. Every fire door along the corridors wedged open throughout our stay. Limited breakfast choice.

Pros:

Property was the perfect ratio of dated to modern. Felt like an old country house but with modern amenities. The grounds very lovely and parking was great. The staff were also amazing, we arrived with a bottle of champagne and the staff member on the desk asked if we needed glasses and an ice bucket!

Cons:

The dining room was very warm during the morning, sun was shining right on myself and fiancé and make breakfast uncomfortable. Even those out of the sun felt the same.

Séjour calme et de grande qualité.
Pros:

Tout était tres bien.
La chambre, le restaurant, et le petit déjeuner. L’ensemble est digne d’un autre étoile.
Y aller les yeux fermés.
