Centrally situated to tour the area. Very good value breakfast.
Booked as this was a pub, the parking in the village is difficult. I went around at least 3 times before finding a place on the streets, obviously not the Red Lion’s issue. Pub does not provide any food other than pizzas, which are very good and good value. The pub stopped serving drinks in the bar before 8.30 pm on Sunday, so don’t expect to go out and come back for a drink even if you are a resident.
The staff were excellent. Friendly and informative while giving good service.
The only problem was the bathroom door, which was difficult to close. However, whenI brought this to the staffs attention on checking out they assured me it would be adressed.
The red lion is in a beautiful location in Ainmouth Northumberland.
The red lion is a v nice hotel and comfortable room we stayed for 2nights sadly are room was not cleaned during our stay which let it down.
The staff were ever helpful and friendly and went out of their way to facilitate our time constraints.
The Pub itself seemed the hub of the village, had great live and piped music, and good beer. Room was well resourced for drinks and shower needs.
Felt like a really good decision to stay there.
Our only recommendation to them would be to stock gluten free pizza bases as we were unable to eat there in the evening.
Staff were all very friendly and helpful. The pizzas, mad on site, were fantastic, and good value. The breakfast was also very good.
Parking: we found some on-street, but had to drop the luggage off at the hotel first.
