Villa Bordoni is excellent in every respect. Most importantly, the staff were friendly, kind and a lot of fun to talk with. The rooms were big, comfortable and filled with antiques. I highly recommend the restaurant, where I dined several nights. All in all, a terrific place.
My wife and I recently returned from 2 weeks in Italy finishing things off with 5 nights at the Villa Bordoni staying in the Montefiorale room. I provide several pictures of the room, views and grounds to try and give an overall complete picture. We used the villa as a starting point each day to visit various parts of Tuscany. If you have the chance to spend time here, you will not regret it.
One point to note, the road up to the villa can seem a little alarming at first. The last mile or so is essentially only wide enough for one vehicle making an encounter with another challenging especially if this is your first time driving in Italy and some may not be comfortable in this situation. I would definitely recommend not driving to the villa for the first time at night if you can help it. But the reality is, we only met another vehicle once and navigated through pretty easily. Additionally, once you have driven it a few times it is really not a big deal. What you should do is pull to the side where you can a few times to take in the breathtaking views and be thankful you have the opportunity to visit a place so beautiful.
Before I move on, it is important to first provide feedback regarding the villa staff. Everyone was great, but my wife and I agree Hugo is a standout among the rest of the staff, always greeting you with a smile and quick to help out with anything you might need. Thank you Hugo!
Our room was roomy with a large closet and spacious bathroom. The windows look out over the gardens and the vineyards in the background. Very peaceful.
The villa itself is amazing and the pictures do not do it justice. The rooms are incredibly clean and the grounds are impeccably maintained. While the weather in October is not warm enough to use the pool, you should still take advantage of the lounges and the beautiful space to relax, read a book or just enjoy the peaceful area. It was warm enough a few of the days for us to enjoy lunch and even one breakfast in the garden area. We ate breakfast most days, two lunches and two dinners. The breakfast spread is wonderful with meats, cheeses, pastries, breads, fruit, and more. What a wonderful way to start off each day. As the villa only has about ten rooms, the lunch and dinner menus may seem somewhat limited when you review them on line but in reality everything is so delicious you will end up finishing your stay and still not having been able to try everything. Between us we sampled 4 of the 6 pasta courses, all excellent, along with several second courses with the wild boar stew being my personal favorite.
Villa Bordoni was absolutely magical — the perfect place to spend part of our honeymoon. From the moment we arrived, Giulia greeted us with such warmth and positivity; she was absolutely amazing and made us feel instantly at home. The villa itself is stunning, with breathtaking views, incredible food, and an atmosphere that feels like pure Tuscany. Every meal was outstanding, especially dinner in the garden overlooking the vineyards. The staff went above and beyond in every way. We’ll never forget our stay and can’t wait to return!
I cannot say enough about our stay at Villa Bordoni. Their attention to detail, the friendliness of the entire staff, the curated menu of the beautiful restaurant, and the absolute beauty of the grounds, all 5star. Thank you especially to Hugo and Lapo for the forever hospitality.
This Villa is a must !
Again, simply delightful.
Great food , excellent classic accommodation ,clean rooms ,beautiful grounds, happy accommodating staff , the final drive ?😏
Villa Bordoni feels like stepping into a storybook, nestled among olive groves and vineyards, every corner radiates charm and effortless beauty. The staff are genuinely kind and attentive, making you feel less like a guest and more like part of the family. The rooms are thoughtfully designed, with layers of rustic elegance and comfort.
Beautiful grounds and pool. Enjoyed lunch outside out back, great service by Hugo. Villa Bordoni recommended a wonderful small winery to tour and do a tasting.
Genuinely nice staff
Beautiful hotel in the heart of Tuscany. If I ever get another opportunity to return , I would definitely stay here. The hotel, its setting and the rooms were very unique, but really cool. The service was impeccable, hats off to the staff, Julia, Gin, Hugo, Maria and many more who made our stay memorable. Thank you. One comment, you need to change the seating in the wine cellar!
everything about Villa Bordoni is amazing. Beautiful and tasteful building, rooms, and pool area. My architect / designer boyfriend especially loved it. Lovely and welcoming service. The restaurant was one of the best we experienced
during our trip and we cancelled our reservations elsewhere in order to eat at the hotel two nights in a row. It’s worth noting that the dirt road to get there is a little tricky if you want to go out after dark.
The Villa is charming and beautifully decorated situated in a delightful part of Tuscany with great views. The restaurant is very good and offers a nice range of Tuscan food. Overall we were very satisfied even though in Autumn it can be cooler than one might expect and extra warmth was needed since Italian law prevents main heating from being turned on until Mid October.
Casi todo
Que no hubiera opciones de al menos piqueos en horarios que no fueran la cena
The staff were amazing, the food was amazing, the location and views were amazing. Overall an amazing place. Would highly recommend the cooking class. Great day
Since I was involved in the book "A Perfect Week in Tuscany" for the Süddeutsche Zeitung, this place has become a staple of our family vacation plans. We come almost every year, and when Hugo greets us charmingly, we feel like we're at home. There are wonderful restaurants nearby, but no one really needs to leave the house to eat. A constantly changing menu makes every meal a delight. The house and garden offer everyone plenty of privacy, and Bordoni is the ideal base for excursions in the surrounding area.
Hands down the best place to stay in the countryside in Tuscany.
Amazing structure (rooms, pool, Italian style garden) and even better food at their restaurant.
Also in terms of logistics, great place to stay to visit Florence, Siena, the Chianti region (or even Val D’Orcia)
We had a fantastic stay at Villa Bordoni! We arrived late, but the staff left us excellent instructions on how to get to our room which was situated in a different building than the main house. Our room was above our expectations with a very private terrace and short walk to the pool. We had dinner at the restaurant and everything was amazing. Only downside was that our stay was too short, but that just means we have to come there again!
My husband and I stayed for four nights in early August. The hotel is lovely. The grounds are immaculate. The staff is attentive and eager to help with travel itineraries and excursions. The restaurant is top quality -- the best dinner we had while in Italy.
