A little difficult to find
I really appreciated how conveniently located the property was, especially being so close to the main tourist areas in Saigon. It made getting around incredibly easy and stress-free. Whether I wanted to explore popular attractions, grab a bite at a local restaurant, or just walk around and soak in the energy of the city, everything felt within reach. That level of accessibility made a big difference in my overall experience, as I didn’t have to spend much time or money on transportation. At the same time, what stood out even more was how the property managed to feel tucked away despite being in such a central location. It was nicely nestled away from the busy street, which created a peaceful and quiet environment. After a long day out in the city—where the traffic, noise, and crowds can be overwhelming—it was really nice to come back to a place that felt calm and relaxing. That balance between convenience and tranquility is not always easy to find, especially in a lively city like Saigon. The room itself was on the smaller side, but it was more than enough for what I needed. Everything felt functional and well thought out, and I never felt uncomfortable or cramped. It had all the essentials, and the space was used efficiently. Since I was spending most of my time exploring the city anyway, having a compact but comfortable room actually worked out perfectly. It felt cozy rather than limiting, which made it easy to unwind and rest. Another thing I liked was how the size of the room encouraged a simple and minimal stay. There wasn’t any unnecessary clutter, and it had just what I needed to feel settled. It made the experience feel more focused and practical, which suited the nature of my trip. For travelers who plan to be out and about most of the time, a room like this is more than sufficient. Overall, the combination of location, quiet atmosphere, and functional space made this property a great choice.
One of the main things I didn’t like about the property in Saigon was that it felt a bit on the unclean side at times. While it wasn’t outright dirty and the basics were taken care of, there were small issues that stood out. For example, I noticed some ants in the room, and at one point even saw what looked like a small salamander or gecko. I understand that in a tropical environment this can happen, but it still took away a bit from the overall comfort and cleanliness of the stay.
Another downside was the size of the room. Although it was manageable and had the essentials, it felt quite small and tight, especially when trying to move around with luggage or just relax indoors. There wasn’t much extra space to spread out, which made it feel a little cramped over time. For shorter stays it might be fine, but for anything longer, the limited space can start to feel restrictive.
Overall, while the property had some positives, these issues made the experience okay. It was still comfortable. The presence of small insects and the tight layout didn’t ruin the stay, but they are definitely things to be aware of when considering this place.
Such a great place and such a lovely owner 🙂
It was all perfect 😍
I recently had the pleasure of staying at Maison Royale, and it turned out to be one of the most relaxing and enjoyable trips I’ve had. From the very first moment I arrived, I was welcomed by Mr Dung, the owner, who made me feel right at home with his warmth and kindness.
Maison Royale itself is a lovely, peaceful retreat. The room was clean, cozy, and had all the necessary comforts for a great stay. It’s not overly fancy, but the simple charm and attention to detail made it the perfect spot to unwind. The peaceful surroundings made it easy to disconnect and truly relax.
What truly made my experience special, though, was Dung. He is one of the most friendly and helpful hosts I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. He took the time to make sure I was comfortable and even went out of his way to share local tips on where to eat and things to do. His hospitality made me feel like I was staying with a friend rather than just renting a room.
I can genuinely say that if you're looking for a warm, welcoming place to stay, Maison Royale with Dung as your host is the perfect choice. The personal touch he adds to your experience is something I won’t forget, and I’ll definitely be back whenever I’m in the area.

The location was great. My partner and I were staying in district 3 and it's a perfect spot to be picked up for tours and close to some great restaurants and bars. The apartment was good and comfortable and our hosts were lovely. They answered all our questions, provided some good recommendations about the area and were very accommodating. I would highly recommend staying here if you visit Ho Chi Minh City, it's great value for money.
Great location with a few decent shops nearby and places to eat out, and wasn't too loud
The mattress was very hard
Thuận tiện, giá hợp lí, host cực kì thân thiện và nhiệt tình
A lovely place to stay! A good location, and a nice large room with a comfortable bed. The bathroom was clean. The staff were super lovely.
Friendly staff, amazing accommodation for the price. For $15 aud per day you get a private room with a view, fridge, en suite and comfortable double bed. Extreme value even for Vietnam. They have a laundry service available too. This is perfect for those that want to travel Vietnam on the cheap but would prefer privacy to a massive noisy hostel.
Genuinely have no issues and will be extending my stay.
