Important information:

Please note that the restaurant is closed on Sundays and Mondays from 20 February 2018.The reception is also closed on the same days, but you can still check-in using the self-check-in machine. Breakfast is served daily.

Please note that children staying in the parents' bed only have to pay for the breakfast. All beds in the room need to be occupied by adults in order for the children to stay for free (e. g. Double Room: 2 full paying adults).
A deposit may be required at the property.

Pros:

Das Hotel Engel ist zentral gelegen, leicht zu finden und verfügt über ausreichend Parkplätze. Die Zimmer sind relativ einfach eingerichtet, aber ausgesprochen sauber. Das Bad ist sehr grosszügig, das Frühstück sehr abwechslungsreich. Der grosse Pluspunkt im Engel ist die Gastronomie: Man isst im Engel ausgezeichnet zu angemessen Preisen.

Cons:

Die zentrale Lage bringt es natürlich mit sich, dass es auch einen gewissen Lärmpegel von Seiten der Strasse gibt. Das ist aber aufgrund der guten Fenster kein Problem.

Übernachtung auf dem Jakobsweg.
Pros:

Exzellente Gastronomie und sehr reichhaltiges Frühstücksbuffet. Sehr freundliches und zuvorkommendes Personal.
Zentrale Lage im Ort und gute Erreichbarkeit.

Cons:

Die Zimmergrösse war klein und die Temperatur liess sich nicht regulieren. Es war drückend und entsprechend hat die Schlafqualität etwas gelitten. Das Zimmer war zur Hauptstrasse hin ausgerichtet, darum war das Öffnen des Fensters wegen dem Strassenlärm keine Option.

Köstliches Essen
Pros:

Das Essen war ein Gaumenschmaus wir kommen sicher wieder um diese Spitzenklasse Küche zu besuchen.
Auch das Restaurant war schön eingerichtet etwas Urchig war mit gefällt.
Das Frühstücksbuffet wurde im neuen teil des Hauses serviert. Wo mir besser gefallen hat als das Stübli.

Cons:

Die Zimmer sind etwas in die Jahre gekommen was zur Küche nicht ganz passte aber wir waren als Pilgerer unterwegs und für dies war es Perfekt da wir lieber gutes Essen haben als ein Modernes Zimmer.

Schönes kleines Haus in Bestlage
Pros:

Schönes kleines, inhabergeführtes Gasthaus mit Fremdenzimmern.

Cons:

Im Sommer ohne intensiven Einsatz des Standlüfters sind die Zimmer nicht zu nutzen, da es wie so oft in Europa keine Air Condition gibt.

Solide ohne Überraschungen
Pros:

Sauber, freundliche Kommunikation, einfache Abwicklung, Lage

Cons:

Frühstück war sehr dünn in Sachen Auswahl und Menge. Qualität der Produkte jedoch sehr gut.
Die Hauptstrasse liegt vor dem Haus und der eine oder andere könnte dies stören da die Autos klar hörbar sind

Pros:

The staff were very friendly and helpful, nice stay for one person. Good breakfast. Perfect location.

Poor wifi
Cons:

Poor wifi connection on the 2nd floor room. Not acceptable for business guests.
The external light of the hotel is directed directly straight towards the room where I slept and three was no way to prevent it lightning the room during whole night. The hotel should think more about the guests than external visibility.
