Relaxing beach retreat
Pros:

Lovely relaxing vibe, perfect for taking in the sound of crashing waves!
Loved the little cabana with doors opening to an ocean view .
The food kindly prepared by the managers was delicious and the pool terrace atmosphere and view were very relaxing 😎

Prachtig verblijf en geweld eiland om volledig tot rust te komen
Pros:

Prachtig verblijf, volledig tot rust met mooi uitzicht. Strandhutje met fijne bedden en direct aan het strand.

Cons:

Is wel stukje naar het centrum lopen en eten en koffie zijn niet beste van het eiland. Maar dar valt in het niets door de mooie faciliteiten

Pros:

We booked casa gitana for 1 night and stayed for 9 nights! The staff is amazing (including the volunteers). Best place and people in checahua!

Cons:

The nature in checahua is wild so make sure you bring a proper anti mosquitos spray

A very special escape
Pros:

We had an amazing stay at Casa Gitana. We stayed in a cabana right in front of the ocean which was a very special experience: listening to the waves at night and literally rolling out of bed for sunrise. The facilities including the pool and shared areas for chilling were all well thought out and maintained. Everyone who worked there was kind and helpful: we loved being able to eat on site, the food and coffee were very good. It was also a huge plus having access to the internet which isn’t prevalent elsewhere on the island. We would definitely stay here again 🙏✨🙏

Todo! Las instalaciones son preciosas, super cuidadas, cómodas y limpias. Aunque es un lugar apartado, teníamos todo lo necesario para una estancia TOP. El diseño del lugar nos encantó, con ese rooftop con jacuzzi y vista 360° donde puedes tomar fotos espectaculares del atardecer. Con la atención del personal te sientes en casa. Volveré siempre!

De rust, ligging en het zwembad met uitzicht op zee

Cons:

Enige nadeel is dat de omgeving uit alleen maar zand bestaat en er niet werd schoongemaakt tijdens onze twee nachten verblijf. Een bezem door de kamer was fijn geweest

Pros:

I booked a "Sea Room with Ocean View" and instead, they gave me a "Double Room with Shared Bathroom." They claimed that this was the correct room, but it clearly wasn't. They're listed separately on the website.

Cons:

I did not want a shared bathroom --- that I had to access by going outside of my room. You shower and then get your feet covered in sand, and then get sand in the bed.

Een heerlijke plek met warme crew
Pros:

De hosts hebben ons ontzettend gastvrij ontvangen en stonden klaar om ons het zo goed mogelijk naar de zin te maken. Noé heeft ons een mooie yoga les verzorgt.
Het verblijf is direct op het strand en het uitzicht vanaf het fijne zwembad/ bar gedeelte is prachtig een verveeld nooit.
Airco is een must op het eiland wat mij betreft, dus dat was erg fijn.

Cons:

Helaas worden de kamers tijdens je verblijf niet schoongemaakt. Gezien je op het strand word het snel zandiger.

An incredible stay in the jungle. Highly recommend!
Pros:

Property is right on the ocean and about 15 m walking from town. The sound of the waves is so nice at night.

The staff really made this place for me. The two managers cook delicious food, teach yoga, clean the hotel, send you referrals for anything you need and make you feel at home. I absolutely loved them as well as the two volunteers !

They also helped me navigate getting on and off the island so it was a seamless trip thanks to them.

Cons:

Bat and gecko poop covered the floor of the two luxury suites every morning because they are indoor/outdoor concepts. I don’t know if it’s a specific season for this or if they can put nets up top to fix this issue. I grabbed a broom and swept it up myself, but it would be nice if they could hire one more person to just clean the floors in the morning.

This issue was only with the two rooms up top with the ocean views though. The cabanas and rooms downstairs for half the price didn’t have this problem.
