Fabulous views over the rice terraces & mountains - a perfect base for trekking.
Pros:

The terrace at Rita’s guesthouse has the most perfect view over the Batad rice terraces and mountains. It is a stunning location! The guesthouse is full of character - a traditional wooden building with chickens & a garden. Germaine is an excellent host - helpful & friendly. She introduced me to guide Lisa, who lives next door. Lisa guided me on 4 different day hikes & explained many aspects of life in the region, past & present. The trekking is absolutely brilliant, though demanding due to the steep terrain & high humidity. Batad is an excellent trekking base. The village is a 20 min walk from the road - remote & extremely peaceful. Germaine will arrange a lift by tricycle from the bus stop at Banaue (1 hour). I will never forget staying at Rita’s - a once in a lifetime experience! Thank you, Germaine & Lisa!

Cons:

The accommodation is very basic, but the price reflects this. The mattresses are old & the sheet didn’t cover the mattress fully. There are insect nets over the beds, but be prepared for cockroaches on the floor! There are no comfy chairs to relax in after trekking, just plastic dining chairs. Because food has to be carried to the village, there is a limited selection available. I ate at Rita’s & appreciated Germaine’s cooking. Other restaurants appeared to be closed.

Feels super authentic and mega friendly. And wow what a view!
Pros:

Super chilled. Super friendly. Location location location. What a view from the terrace and rooms (wow). You can learn a lot about the culture and rice etc, very educational.

Cons:

Not a lot to dislike when you come to terms with the fact it's 'simple living'.

Pros:

Parádní umístění přímo na amfiteátr rýžových polí. Pozorná hostitelka vždy se snažila udělat vše pro naši spokojenost

Cons:

Na pokoji občas běhaly šváby pan domácí pálil pod oknem slupky od kokosu takže nám čoudilo přímo do pokoje

Très belle expérience, je recommande à 1000%

L emplacement
Le confort
La propreté
Mais surtout la gentillesse de la famille qui nous a accueilli

Ps : à savoir que l accès est compliqué pour les personnes qui ont du mal à se déplacer ou à grimper

Cons:

On ne peut pas leur en vouloir mais le champ du coq qui se perche dans l arbre, juste en face de la fenêtre

Fabulous experience. Everyone so helpful, answering our many questions…
Pros:

This was perfect for us. We were net at the stop off point and taken up the hill to Rita’s. We wanted to share time with local people and learn of the culture, this we did.
We all wished we could have stayed longer. We were able to trek the rice terraces with a lovely guid who told us if the people and history etc. same guide was available the next day for a walk to the waterfalls.
A very full menu fit all meals. Try the chapatis!
I would like to think I could return some day.
Fantastic views. Mosquitoe nets although we didn’t have a mosquitoe problem.

The whole experience is awesome ! People were amazing !
Pros:

The staff is well informed of the area and what our needs were. They were very accommodating and made sure that we were okay. The location was absolutely stunning and awesome !! It felt like being home. This is definetely a 5 star accommodation.

Cons:

I wish I could have stayed 2 more days but had to go . It was a short trip.

Pros:

Germain is a very always smiling host who will help with everything you need. She gladly cooks for you. Batad is wonderful. Quiet, as no Cars or Motors can drive there., and wonderful hikes around the area. Go visit!

Un endroit coupé du monde et de son bruit
Pros:

Nichée au coin des montagnes, avec une superbe vue sur l'amphithéâtre de rizières de Batad, Rita's house se mérite. Nous y avons passé trois jours et deux nuits exceptionnelles, loin du bruit du monde. Germaine a été adorable avec nous et a le contact très facile. Nous avons profité de notre temps là-bas pour y faire un trek vers Pula avec Randy comme guide, une très belle expérience. Le confort est rudimentaire mais la chaleur de l'accueil et la vue imprenable s'occupent de vous.

A lovely stay with a lovelier host
Pros:

We had the most excellent, lovely, and attentive host! She made us feel welcome and cared for, even before we arrived at the property.

The host took care to give detailed instructions on getting to Batad from Banaue town proper safely, gave practical recommendations for day tours, and helped us to secure a local tour guide.

The rooms, dining/lobby area and bathroom facilities were clean.

The food was excellent!

The whole area was secure and we felt safe throughout our stay, would recommend :)
