Saviours to distressed travellers!
Pros:

Manager Jamie very friendly, helpful and accommodating.
Helped me when Booking.com let me down and allowed a closed business to still take money off bookings! And insisted I drive 4 hrs to closed property to show i couldn't get in before helping me.
Jamie made sure myself and my disabled friend had a room for the night.
Breakfast and staff were amazing. Room was cosy and quiet. Easy access to train station to get into London for my interview next morning. Awesome!

Cons:

Room was a bit small for a Superior i manged to book later online. But we'll equipped and clean.

Hot sweaty was sat in the garden by 4.30 am
Pros:

The property was in a nice location

Cons:

Not the fault of the property but it was 40 degrees plus in the room . No fan and no AC even though I paid for a room upgrade to a room with AC (which apparently non of the rooms have) the toilet in my bathroom was ridiculous, literally had to reverse in the use it wedging my shoulders on the walls each side . The Fire doors needed replacing and had Key Locks which is never a good start . The corridors for escape had obstacle’s to avoid and very poor signage. Now I have to be honest on a cooler night things would have been better I’m sure . They need to work on the fire risk element and maybe considering the outside temp,, open windows , provide chilled water etc

Not the best
Pros:

Staff were friendly

Cons:

It wasn’t as advertised. Very dated rooms, bathroom was grubby and sideboard had dust all over it. Couldn’t make a drink as the machine was filthy. Booking.com said the rooms had air con when they didn’t

Check your room before booking.
Pros:

Staff always friendly and helpful.
The bed was very comfortable.

Cons:

Noticed a fishy smell in bar area.
The ceiling lights are loose, flickering, and appear to be falling from their fittings.
The photographs displayed on Booking.com do NOT accurately reflect the room we were allocated.
Given the condition of the room and the issues experienced during our stay, I do not feel that the accommodation provided represented acceptable value for the amount charged.

rip off
Pros:

basic clean bed, ok but tired

Cons:

no one at reception for us to pay on departure. the hotel phoned and took payment over the phone and charged twice the rate charging card £320.76 instead of £160.38. the hotel don't answer the phone or respond to e mails. contacted booking .com to get refund and so far they have not arranged refund either . Do not give them your card details over the phone.!!

Lovely stay but needs updating.
Pros:

The pub garden is lovely. The staff are excellent, so friendly and helpful. The staff definitely keep the pub and hotel running smoothly. Our breakfast was delicious, you have an excellent chef.
You should be very proud of all the staff , never felt so welcome staying somewhere before, excellent.

Cons:

Our room, no 4, was extremely tired. Bed was big and comfortable. The window was broken, couldn't put it on a latch. The bedside lights don't work. Horrible stains on the walls. The bathroom definitely needs a complete overhaul.
The hanging rail in the room is a waste of time, can't use it.
I seriously don't think that for £162, it's not worth the money. I know other rooms had a coffee machine in, ours didn't. Got a rank old kettle instead.

Good for a Night Stop
Pros:

Very helpful staff. Nice garden. Excellent fish and chips.

Cons:

Room was very clean and well-appointed but needs little bit of maintenance (window latch broken, no plug in sink). The pub is located on quite a busy junction so can be a little noisy.

Two night stay
Pros:

Lovely friendly staff.
Comfortable bed.
Good food in the restaurant

Cons:

Bathroom in room 3 needs some attention. Shower head needs descaling. Room needs a shelf for wash things. Not the floor. Small mirror is inadequate for shaving. The shower panel doesn't stop the water going on the floor. Shower is over the bath which is is quite high and a rail to hold onto coming out would make it safer

An average place which could easily up its game!
Pros:

Good location. Bed pretty good.

Cons:

Shower wasn’t cleaned properly. Food in the bar was very average. Ate at 6.30pm and 2 mains already sold out from a small choice. The salt grinder was broken and so salt went all over the food. Boy just said oh sorry. Pillows hard.

Lovely staff and location
Pros:

The staff are amazing

Cons:

The room we stayed in on the first night wasn’t great. The manager changed us to another room that was much better for the rest of our stay.
