The location and facilities with in the resort.
The description as advertised was far from what the room was. Was advertised with ‘kitchenette’ it only had a toaster and kettle. Guests are expected to
Wash up in the bathroom sink that doesn’t hold water and only a tiny bar fridge to try and fit food in if you’re staying for an extended stay. The room description definitely needs to be reworded to match exactly what the room is. A welcome pack was included… half a roll of toilet paper and a thimble size cup of washing up liquid. Very frustrating after a day of travelling.

Poor hygiene in the bathrooms
I'm a regular at Calypso and wouldn't go anywhere else for a GC holiday. It has everything...great location, fabulous pool area, beautiful gardens especially the poinciana trees. Gold Coast without the crowds & commercialism of Surfers Paradise. Rooms always clean & comfortable. All staff friendly & approachable.

For a weekly stay 1 bath towel was not enough considering we were not to use resort towels for pool. It was not obvious in booking that this was a private unit. Photo was not similar
The location was perfect for us. Right in the middle of Marine Parade, Coolangatta with the beach across the road and the Coolangatta Surf Club close by. The unit has a view of the pool and some ocean views. The walkways around the beaches are lovely and we frequented them for early morning walks.
I love the decor in the room, very beachy. The staff at the hotel were outstanding and friendly.

the room I booked was through a third party called rbr rentals which I did not realize at the time of booking, had to collect keys at a different location it was a 10 minute walk at 10:30pm at night felt safe, would have be an issue if I was alone, the room key did not work when we arrived to room at 11pm at night not suppose to contact the hotel as the room is not there problem. The toilet seat did not fit the toilet which was not so comfy, for two people all we had was 2 towels for 5 days stay, had to either rent or buy our own be aware. Sink plug would not release so could not use until it was fixed. the room was comfy. Yes I would stay again but bring the necessities.
