The grounds were beautiful, a great place to walk, see old trees, gardens, the Werribee river and we even saw some rhinos and giraffes in the distance from the road! The hotel is gorgeous, we enjoyed its old world charm and learning about its history. The view from our room was lovely, it overlooked the canopy of old gum trees. The staff were helpful and welcoming. Our room was spotless and well appointed. We appreciated having real wool blankets and the gift of wine. The breakfast at Joseph’s Restaurant was delicious and the pool was heavenly. We loved seeing the Mansion itself.
The room temperature was too warm for us, we did ask for assistance and they did their best to help us but we couldn’t get the temperature low enough. The beds were very soft and we are unaccustomed to this.
Had an amazing staycation at this beautiful place. An early anniversary getaway, where we truely felt indulged and immersed in both the history of this place, as well as the serenity. Beautiful gardens and walking tracks, along with an incredible spa/pool area. The staff were all friendly and very accommodating. We loved our buffet breakfast at Jospeh's resturant, the variety and flavours were 👌. Definitely would recommend a minimum of two nights here.
Grounds. Good bed
Slow,inattentive staff.
Architecture and garden surrounds are beautiful
Can be hard to find in the at nightare a little dated the suites aren’t really suites more studio style no separate lounge in bedroom the TV is on the wall to the left rather than the end of the bed which drives me nuts, staff of being helpful and food is great
The pool
The sauna was closed
Location , complementary breakfast, 1 hour free drinks and included self guided mansion tour were all great
Rooms were quite small.
Not so comfortable utilities for small kids (no bath, shower head too high, bed space small)
Location and grounds
Shabby rooms, bathroom floors really dirty
The cleanliness
The room was very small
The staff were exceptional! Went above and beyond for my family, especially my 2 year old son.
Would have liked better seating in the room. I selected a room that felt more like a room for a solo businessman. Perhaps that was my fault.
Everyrhing was wonderful, so cosy great food and wine. Spa and wellness treatment was nice. Lovely gargens
Mens sauna wasnt working during our stay and the pool and spa could be warmer
What's not to like, the whole place is amazing. From the moment you step through the door your imediately at peace. The room was great, the food in the restaurant was beautiful and location makes for a very comfortable stay. We didnt want to leave.
That we live so far away from it.
The bed in room 216 ~ Big and comfortable.
Our stay was extremely disappointing, particularly regarding accessibility. I have significant mobility difficulties and am 65 years old. We stayed in Room 216, and having only one conveniently accessible lift meant a very long and difficult walk. I was also concerned about emergency evacuation, particularly as our windows could not be opened.
Access to the restaurant and adjoining gardens was unsuitable for people with limited mobility or wheelchairs, with steps and a large, heavy door.
Breakfast was very disappointing. There were no fresh juices, the scrambled eggs were dry and rubbery on both mornings, the sausages were unpleasant, and the bacon was cold and excessively fatty. The fresh fruit was the only food we enjoyed.
The minibar was extremely expensive. There was no microwave or toilet brush, and only one sachet of poor-quality coffee.
We looked forward to the pool and spa, but both were cold. We could not find proper changing rooms, so my 22-year-old daughter had to stand in front of me for privacy while I changed in a corner near the towels. This was unacceptable for a hotel of this standard. The gym also had extremely limited equipment.
One positive was the bed in Room 216, which was large and extremely comfortable. Unfortunately, a comfortable bed alone did not justify approximately $500 for our stay.
Based on our experience, we would not stay again or recommend the hotel. I particularly hope management takes the accessibility issues seriously.
Great staff. Very helpful. Lots to do at the Mandion and surrounds
Bit dated. Could do with some restyling.
I called the day after i left, spoke to a different woman in reservations who went to the room and found the phone charger. We arranged return of the charger to my home address via Australia Post, charged at my expense.
Magnesium pool is better than chlorinated one as the chemicals don't affect my eyes
Poor value for money. Additional items that needed to be paid for such as a robe and free to air TV i thought would be included in the tariff.
I realised i had left behind my phone charger and a metal stand to sit the phone on while charging. i called the day i left, spoke to-------who told me she had been into the room and the charger wasn't there. Yet the following day a different staff member went to the room and found the charger. This leaves me feeling ?????
