A lovely quick escape in a beautiful setting
Pros:

The mansion is in a lovely area, with beautiful grounds and other attractions within walking distance, the room was warm and comfortable, the staff were very kind, particularly the restaurant staff.

Cons:

There was an issue with the phone when I tried to call for room service, however the staff came directly to my room instead and took my request - which I was surprised by but appreciated.

Disappointing stay, the facilities and decor are in dire need of updating- which might have been tolerable if the room w

The staff were very warm and welcoming

Cons:

The main property was under renovation and the fireplace rendered unusable- understand outdoor maintenance and works are necessary, however this should have been communicated before our stay.
The room and corridors were tired, worn and in need of an update. Carpets and furniture were stained and damaged. The bathroom floor was either damaged or in need of a good mop, and the room was dusty in areas. Inexplicably, there was a shower cap over the smoke alarm.

Convenient to equestrian centre. Bed is very good. Drinks on arrival is nice touch.

Cons:

Prison style bathrooms are not on trend. Breakfasts is underwhelming
