Family atmosphere
Having to go home
We did our own breakfast.
Manager showed us the fridge switch but we assumed it was on..Not.had to throw some food out.
Young girls serving at a pub..not a great environment for them.Clientele..locals? seemed well spoken.
Manager x helpful.
Needed winter weight quilt.
Prepared meal on Sun night very nice & grateful for this.No shops around.
Well, it's basically a trailer park, and the rooms are in caravans. So if you like that type of accomodation, have a go at it: it's really extreme...
Winter time, and minimal heating: freezing cold. "Rooms" are tiny, and bathrooms quite run down. We were communicated a wrong room number, so my son had to sleep in an unmade bed... good thing he's young and unassuming...
Great host and meals were fantastic!
All good
The Gundy Pub is a classic old country pub, probably unchanged for decades. The publican Dan is a great host, and an excellent bloke. The beer was cold, the dinner was very good (huge meals) and the rooms were clean and quiet. It's off the main roads and is worth a stop if you're nearby.
The pillows on the bed were too thin and made for a less-than-ideal sleep. Otherwise everything was fine.
As a solo traveller, I carry ice bricks in an esky. If, when the fridge dies and needs replacing, that the new mini fridge has a little freezer section. Especially as, with summer approaching, how to keep medications at an even temperature within the esky after departing. Just a thought I had.
Clean and nice
In winter the room is super cold
friendly place
Great value old school country pub that everyone should visit at least once. Little gems like this are vanishing in favour of brand,no character corporate hotels, so take the road less travelled to Gundiah.
Nothing not to like.
Friendly staff and locals
Good pub food
Basic donga accommodation, but clean, comfortable, and great value. Included tea & coffee making, bar fridge & a good bathroom. Ideal for overnighting. Good food and interesting locals at the pub :)
