Lovely up market hotel near to bus station

We were upgraded to a lovely large room

Cons:

The next day after a 13.5 hour flight arriving at the hotel I saw in my emails my booking had been cancelled because there was a problem with the card, I had booked this hotel a while ago and meanwhile my bank card had been renewed since and the hotel much have tried to get payment before we arrived even though we were to pay on arrival, the message from Booking.com said we had 2 hours to register a new card but as we were on a long flight I had no access to my emails to see this message.
At check in this was not mentioned although we were upgraded to a very nice room, I imagine because they did not have to pay Booking.com any fees because the booking was cancelled
