Exceptional
Pros:

Absoulety love the place to bits, is Hilton service and amenities for the fraction of the price. Lovely staff and very helpful despite not speaking English they used the translator. Downton is walkable in 2 miles!
Everything in the room is new and works perfectly! Super stay and THANK YOU for being my home for the end of my China trip!I LOVE CHONGQING! BEST CITY IN CHINA.!Lots of love from Romania and London!keep up with the good work, you are amazing!

Good budget option in Chongqing
Pros:

Spacious comfortable clean room, quiet at night, near to subway line / escalator, convenience shop nearby

Cons:

No communication via booking.com from staff - they don’t seem to see messages here & we worried about our late check in and couldn’t contact them but had no issues upon arrival

Great hotel - but it's 50 meters below the main action!
Pros:

I chose this hotel because it was near the Caiyuanba bus station which had a direct bus to the Chongqing University of Posts and Communications.
The facilities are good for the price - private bathroom, clean, modern and so on. Staff are very helpful, but very little English spoken - if at all.
It looked near enough to the Lianglukou metro which would link me to the other sights - but be warned of vertical distances! In front of the hotel is a busy road, and the bus station always seemed to have a line of taxis, so getting around is not a major problem.
The local dining is plentiful but note it is mainly local cooking.

Cons:

The hotel was 50 meters beneath the Lianglukou station where I came from. The famous (Crown) HuangguanDaFuTi escalator was nearby, but it's opening hours may not be convenient. There is an external staircase, but it's some ways down! Note the hotel itself is at 168 NanQu Lu.
