Modern bathroom with walk-in shower
No elevator, no hair dryer, no hand soap in bathroom, no wardrobe or possibility to hang even a jacket or a shirt, there was a desk without a chair, zero noise insulation.... but worst of all, the room didn't get clean during my stay! Terribile experience.
This is the e-mail I sent to the hotel after our stay and never received an answer.
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to share our experience during our recent stay at your establishment. Unfortunately, it was far from meeting our expectations, and I hope this feedback will help improve future guests' experiences.
First, we were surprised and disappointed to discover upon arrival that your hotel was closed. It seems that the reservations on Booking.com were not disabled, but at the very least, we should have been informed in advance. This would have allowed us to reconsider our booking and make alternative arrangements.
Arriving at a cold and empty hotel, with no staff present, was not a welcoming experience. To make matters worse, the room was not properly prepared upon our arrival.
As for the amenities, they were far below what one would reasonably expect. The state of the lobby, which was noticeably unclean, further added to our dissatisfaction. We are also concerned about whether it is even legal to operate a hotel without any staff present during a guest's stay, as this raises questions about safety and customer service.
Given these conditions, I am sure you can understand our disappointment.
For your information, we are planning to return to Winterthur in May, but based on this experience, we would need significant reassurance that your establishment can offer a better level of service before considering another booking.
I look forward to hearing from you and hope you will take these points into consideration.
Best regards,
Maxime Provini
Perfect location - right in center of the town overlooking a park which was especially nice as the room had nice, big windows. The room was newly renovated and very spacious. It had everything you could want in a hotel room. Tim the manager was extremely welcoming and hospitable!
Very friendly owner and team
The room was very nicely renovated, it was very noisy as it was the festival weekend, not the fault of the owners. The staff I met were super helpful, nothing was too much trouble. I would highly recommend, just if it is the St Alban's festival weekend (only 1 weekend per year) be prepared for it to be very noisy outside.
The owner was incredibly kind. And the room was very nice.
It was unbelievably noisy at night from about20:00 until 2:00 - 3:00 AM. People being very loud, shouting, screaming. Very busy street, very noisy restaurant across the street, and big park with tons!
The location was as i expected with restaurants and bars nearby.
It was a little noisy in the evenings going on into the night from the nearby bars and restaurants.
No breakfast. Location is central and within walking distance of the central train station of Winterthur. Staff was friendly and helpful. Zurich is only an easy 20 minute train ride away.
The hotel has an outdoor restaurant. From our second floor room it was quite noisy until the restaurant closed. There is no air conditioning so closing the window was not an option as it was quite warm while we were there.
Location of hotel had good proximity to train stars d restaurants.
The rooms are above a restaurant that serves BBQ. The heat rises to the rooms above requiring window to be open to stay cool. Lots of noise outside due to location. Would be great during cool weather but not good during summer. Very uncomfortable.
Only wifi and location

the location
the front desk was unattended most of the day
Great location and friendly personnel. If I will come back to the city I will return to the same place.
Central location, friendly and helpful staff, quaint building
Room didn't look as good as in the pictures; noise at street level was continuous and annoying.
