Quite simply one of the best meals we have eaten out in a long time. A fusion of Swiss and South African flavours by virtue of the couple that run the place - it just works brilliantly. If you are staying in Andermatt and enjoy a good meal with a touch of spice and a great wine selection, this is a must. Get there this year as the current owners will be retiring soon. A great evening and a meal we will remember. Thank you
Wonderful little eaterie in the heart of Andermatt. Very welcoming hosts, cosy atmosphere and delicious, generous servings. We were very impressed with the booking ( online via email) and the attentiveness of the host. We had a very relaxing and extremely filling evening meal. The choice of dishes was a wide selection and cooked and served to a high level. We would certainly recommend this restaurant.
We only ate at the restaurant but it was the best dinner of our whole trip. Would highly recommend. Friendly and efficient service, delicious food and wine and a brilliant sense of the staff really caring about the details and your experience.
We came 2 years ago on a previous trip and was exactly the same then. We will certainly be back on our next!
Location location location. Right in the middle of Andermatt. Simple but excellent place to stay. small supermarket around the corner and a coffee machine for guests to use. Perfect start to the day and then off to ski.
The owner was super helpful.
Excellent location and comfortable accommodations for a couple. Hosts were extremely helpful and pleasant. Restaurant was 5 star with wonderful menu. Centrally located between both gondolas. Highly recommended.
We initially thought we were getting into a this restaurant for a classic Swiss roesti meal ... but it ended up even far better 👍 with a warm welcome from the new hosts of the Gasthaus Tell Charleen and Sandro Stadler. Fantastic hosts and amazing food - forget the roesti and get your taste buds acquainted to an amazing Bobotie (South African classic dish at it’s best🙌) or a fabulous and tasty Pork Belly. Definitely worthwhile stopping by for lunch or dinner 👌 thank you for a great meal Corinne and Vincent from Valais
I arrived in Andermatt on August bank holiday and was delighted to find a spacious double room available in this well run guest house. Friendly welcoming and situated in the middle of the town it was a perfect base for exploring the Alps and in particular the many mountain passes and major river sources in the immediate area. Highly recommended.
We arrived to Andermatt in at the beginning of August. Andermatt in these days was almost fully booked and hotel are very expensive. After visiting and asking for availability in some hoteles which were fully booked we met Gasthaus Tell. The manager of the hotel was really nice with us. She helped a lot and even gave us the possibility to have a parking place for our car. The hotel is a Gasthaus which means that you should not expect a lot. Rooms are small but clean and confortable (according to the room rate). The only aspect to be improved is the breakfast.
