Everything, we had a very nice welcome and would like to particularly thank to Specialle.
In the last day, we needed a later check out and as the hotel was not fully booked we got this offered very kindly.
We also received an upgrade of the room.
In the rooms there are towels you can take to the beach or pool.
I loved that we didn’t have a tv in the room.
There was an whatsapp no we could contact for any question we could have.
Thank you for everything.
There are some mapache around the propriety which was no bother for me as I love animals and they are super cute. However they do open the fridge on the terrace and eat the food you have. So all you need to do is make sure you lock the fridge and the shelves on the terrace with something (maybe a chair) as they are very smart. And not leave the bin outside as they will look for food. But they are really cute.
Bella piscina tra un giardino tropicale molto bello
The hotel is amazing. Cozzy, very nice design, the pool was perfect, very quiet and close to everything
The stuff was amazing, with a great connection 2 weeks before coming and also closed all our attractions. Super recommended!
The breakfast was not rich but maybe because the hotel was quite empty..
Rooms are good but the pool area is superb
Zeer vriendelijke staf, en mooie accommodatie
Very special place. Excellent breakfast. The staff are very friendly, knowledgeable and extra mile helpful. Helped me arrange local activities including tennis and hiking and were outsanding when I had car trouble. Beautiful ambiance. Easy walk to beach and beautiful rooms and communal spaces. True Pura Vida place.
Great stay, 5 stars
I cannot say enough about this special hotel. We were looking for somewhere relaxing to stay in popular Nosara, but very SPECIAL at the same time. Hotel Guiones is just magical, from the layout itself (with restaurant and reception up top, rooms and pool down below), to all the plants and trees (you will feel like you're staying in a tropical forest!), to the lovely people that work at the hotel and make it spectacular. The complimentary breakfast offers good choice and is delicious (restaurant also open for dinner, along with the bar until 10pm), the self serve mini bar by the pool is so fun and convenient, the rooms are beautifully decorated, and the pool and waterfall feature are just phenomenal. I was expecting a lot from this place as I'd read such good things, and it did not disappoint! Hammock and chairs outside our room were a nice feature as well, giving everyone a place to find some relaxation. Be sure to try their chocolates... they are UNBELIEVABLE. Thank you to Spacialle, Alina and Jorge, and all the staff for making our stay there so enjoyable :) p.s. their burgers are out of this world!
Spent one week during my Barefoot Travel Surf Camp in Hotel Guiones. Very good hotel with great staff ready to help in anything I needed. Nice outdoor patio for own morning yoga practice. Very good location close to beach and quiet spot in the quiet village. Likes the feeling of living in the middle of jungle and still having all the comforts of good hotel. Very nice pool area and hotel’s own El Local restaurant for breakfast and dinner.
The rooms are small but quite nice if a bit rustic, but the food is very average and it’s not great value for money.
First the good - the rooms are bright and airy and have a nice beach vibe, although it’s all quite old and feels a little run down. The property is very jungly so you really feel like you’re staying in the rainforest. The reception staff are also very nice and helpful. Cleaning staff were also lovely. Pool is also nice and because there are not lots of rooms it’s never busy despite the fact we were there for Christmas week and they were full.
Then the bad - when the sun doesn’t shine, there’s no hot water! Apparently it’s provided by solar panels on the roof of each cottage so no sun = no hot water.
The restaurant is also pretty poor. Breakfast was included but there’s no buffet and you only get filter coffee, a glass of orange juice, and one dish which is a rather stingy portion. As an example we ended up having an argument with them because an order of French toast was literally just one piece of toast. For an adult with no buffet to fill up on that seems very mean. They did say they could do another piece for an extra $5 but when you’re paying over $500/night for a room that just seems a silly and trivial thing to argue about with your guests. The service in the restaurant was also absolutely hopeless. Every single day they would forget at least one persons order, or get it wrong, or it would just take ages. We stayed there for a full week and by the end we were tearing our hair out with frustration. I started wondering if our server was actually stoned as she moved so slowly. The restaurant really needs a new manager and the staff a big kick in the ass.
Overall my summary is that this is a nice property which could be soooo much better with some small improvements and some better restaurant staff.
