We were visiting Zollverin which is in the area so it was nice to stay in some industrial heritage too.
The room we had was very nice and overlooked the headstock.
Breakfast was very good
Nothing
Very unique building. Breakfast was very good and fresh.
We rented 2 rooms for my family of 3. The towel I used and all sheets smelled sour or mildewed like they either were left in wash for an extended period or not fully dry before storage. The smell on the sheets came out when we were sleeping and was so bad it woke me up and could still be appreciated when we left the rooms and came back the next morning.
Wonderfully renovated and repurposed industrial building.
Everything was great!
Not what it appeared in the photos. Staff were good, sadly the beds were pretty poor and we had a few insects and bugs in the rooms.
Not value for money, but we paid a premium as we booked the room as accommodation for football
Breakfast and staff were good
Very comfortable and special.
Easy access and spacy rooms
Restaurant facility is limited
Breakfast was very good with all you need to start perect into theday.
Dinner was also good.
Staff was very friendly.
It is a very interesting hotel. Very industrial. The surroundings are not special. It is a suburb of Essen, Pretty far away from the center of Essen, There are not nice restaurants in the area. The Biergarten in front of the hotel is very nice but pretty low quality food. I recommend this place for 1 or 2 nights. You can easily acces bike trails that are very well maintained a couple of minutes away from the hotel
Beautiful characteristic place.
No car charging point (also not in de wide surrounding).
No airco in room which led to a terribly warm night as the sun was shining into the room during the day.
Great historic building. Very friendly staff. Good service that we asked for a quiet room and they gave us the room at the very end of the corridor. Diner was good.
First day that we arrived the restaurant was closed for some reason. The room was a bit basic.
Very impressive hotel in a historic industrial building. Nice staff and the rooms are clean. The beds were a bit small, but very comfortable. In the restaurant Wolperding directly opposite you can get a couple of drinks and food until midnight, on weekends even until 2am. The historic Zollverein site is 5 minutes of drive.
Unfortunately no lift and the reception closes at 10pm (but you can get in and out at any time).
Large and clean room, friendly staff, free parking, and a good price.
Well integrated into an impressive ensemble of industrial heritage
beautiful building, very well restored
