Das Hotel ist wirklich außergewöhnlich und ganz anders als gewöhnliche Hotels. Wir hatten ein super Zimmer mit einem ganz tollen Ausblick über den Ort. Die Whirpoolwanne fanden besonders unsere Kinder ganz toll. Das Zimmer war sehr sauber und wir bekamen zum Empfang sogar Getränke und Obst. Das Hotel ist wirklich sehr zu empfehlen. Das Frühstück war auch sehr gut.

La struttura è molto bella e il luogo molto tranquillo, circondato da un bellissimo parco con tanti cervi. Staff disponibile. Parcheggio interno riservato comodo. La colazione buona ma non particolarmente varia. La cena al loro ristorante ottima.

Cons:

Le nostre stanze al terzo piano (raggiungibili solo con un ultima rampa di scale dopo l'ascensore) erano molto scarne, senza neanche un frigo o una bottiglia d'acqua e prive di aria condizionata.

Příjemná, skvělá a stylová zastávka na naší cestě. Určitě se vrátíme na delší pobyt.
Pros:

Náš pokoj byl s výhledem na nádvoří a na hradní věž. Příjemná byla stylově zařízená zákoutí na hradních chodbách, určená k relaxaci a k odpočinku. Každé místo na hradě bylo promyšlené pro pohodlný pobyt a přitom si zachovalo hradní, pohostinný charakter. Večer jsme si vychutnali pohár s opravdu vynikající zmrzlinou, stejně pak ráno bohatou snídani. Výtečná byla zejména nabídka sýrů. Velmi rádi se na Burg Colmberg Hotel vrátíme na delší pobyt.

Absolutely unique. Truly worth a detour. Even for a single night.
Pros:

Absolutely stunning location, kept in very good condition by the family owning it. The room (Turmwachter Suite) was amazing, same for the restaurant which serves a variety of local delicacies. It is definitely not a ‘stiff’ place, as you might sometimes encounter at other locations such as these: all staff is very welcoming and had a great attitude towards our children, for which there are facilities like a courtyard playground as well.

Stunning and memorable stay while visiting Rothenburg
Pros:

Burg Colmberg Hotel blew us away. We knew what we booked, but the castle is so incredible in person. It's stunning to walk into with it's rich dark wood and stone. The room had tall ceilings and a stone wall with exposed beams above us. Walking through the castle was so fun and disorienting with its many levels and stairs! There are so many nooks and places to sit in this beautiful place.

The breakfast was good, but where you sit outside with your food is exceptional - The view of the town and rural landscape from atop the castle is beautiful.

We visited Rothenberg during our stay and we found the Burg Colmberg Hotel to be a good home base for our adventures into town.

Cons:

As with many places in Germany, Burg Colmberg Hotel does not have air conditioning, which is typically okay, but my spouse had a particularly hard time in our room as it got a little stuffy. But we this was a minor inconvenience compared to what we gained staying at the castle, and we look forward to returning (just maybe during a cooler time of the year - we hear they decorate for Christmas!).

What could be better than staying in a real castle?
Pros:

This is just a very unique property that cannot be reviewed like a regular "hotel". The castle is fascinating and the grounds are really lovely. We felt completely relaxed staying there and we had a fun time exploring and looking at the countryside and the rabbits. We also enjoyed both the restaurant meal of venison which was very good, and the ample breakfast that was included with our stay. The wait staff were nice and attentive without feeling intrusive. The bathroom in our room was large, modern and very clean. We appreciated that the location was a little off the beaten path and self-contained.

Cons:

It would be nice to have 3 bottles of water given when 3 people are staying in a room. In addition, I think the larger room we booked was the perfect size for 2 people. For three it was less convenient, but that didn't matter for us since we were only there for a night. We had booked one single room where we put the family member who snores and rises early, and the other 3 of us shared a triple. It worked out well because we had two bathrooms among the 4 of us. If I booked again, I might try for 2 doubles or the "family room" in the tower. However, these things did not detract. We had a really nice time, actually a lot of fun.
