The Place to Stay in Catemayo Before an Early Morning Flight
Pros:

I live in Loja, a 50 minute taxi drive from the Catemayo (Loja) airport ... unless there are mud slides or other 'acts of nature'. So I decided to leave Loja on the day before an early morning flight to Quito on the regional airline. I stayed overnight at Gran Hotel Marcjohns, in downtown Catemayo, very close to the airport. The hotel staff were very welcoming. They arranged for a taxi pickup at 5:30 a.m. I slept well the night before, confident that I would arrive at the airport on time. I had a 4th floor room with a view of downtown Catemayo. The room was spacious, well appointed with dark wood furniture. The bed was comfortable, with crisp sheets and fluffy pillows. Windows offered a 180 degree view of downtown. I would choose this hotel again.

Cons:

Because the hotel is conveniently located downtown, there was some noise from traffic - but it did not prevent a good night's sleep.

This hotel is fine for a one night stay before catching an early morning flight.
Pros:

The bed is comfortable and the elevator works well.

Cons:

The price too high for the quality of the hotel. There is no longer the free breakfast like before. The shower was warm but not hot. The coffee/tea water in the lobby was still cold in the morning so no coffee before going to the airport.

Great Stay for a last minute turn of events. I will stay here again.
Pros:

I wasn't there long enough to enjoy the breakfast. however, the service at the front desk was happy, efficient and very accommodating. The location of the hotel was great. Was close to the airport when my flight got cancelled last minute. Great bargain!
