It was a fantastic location, food in the restaurant (dinner and breakfast the next day) delicious, beds really comfy, had everything we needed, friendly staff, easy access to the property and room, plus it had that proper oldie worldie pub feel, which was perfect for a trip to see Harry Potter Studios
No hot water in the sink, and there was no staff overnight, so when a full on domestic argument broke out in the room next door in the middle of the night, it wasn’t clear what I would be able to do about it, short of phoning the police. Fortunately my 11 year old slept through the entire thing, but it was obviously upsetting and worrying regardless.

Lovely old building. Quirky and interesting and in a good location
The bedroom was very warm with a radiator on. Tried and failed to turn it off so we opened the windows and all was good until the busy traffic built up noisy the next morning before we were ready to wake

The wake up call at 6 am on both mornings due to the children running and bouncing on the bed coming from landlord side of the building which was right next to our room. Felt like someone could walk right though fire exit door which would of lead straight into their property
Surprisingly busy mid 1600s building with real character...nice bar area and the food was decent. Big room and bathroom. Decent parking. Staff friendly in a busy bar area.
The building itself is not ideal for anyone with mobility problems...my room has stairs to access the bathroom as well as the room itself so care needed to be taken - not a lot the owners can do about that to be honest, but guests should be aware. Breakfast not included in the room rate and only on from 9am. Possibly slightly overpriced but the bills need to be paid!

We were greeted in a friendly manner as soon as we entered and was helped to our room. The room was made up on arrival. Had a kettle, glasses and had a lovely authentic feel to the room. Beds were comfy and had a tv and free wifi which is ++.
We had dinner in the restaurant, the food was beautiful and were big portions.
The pub was lovely, lots of Harry Potter around it which excited my family.

Little areas of cleaning missed so a bit of dust in the bathroom. I do wish breakfast was slightly earlier as we didn't have time in the morning so we just took our own. Be mindful that when the toilet flushes there is a pumping noise for a while after and the rooms are right on top of the pub, so there is a bit of noise. But I wouldn't let this put you off.
