Excellent location, clean and tidy. Liked the water in the fridge and the selection of coffee/tea and biscuits. Having its own car park was also a big bonus.
For £278 we were pretty much expecting perfection but we were sorely disappointed. We had a ground floor room (7) and our window looked out onto a brick wall so a bad start as the first thing we like to do is enjoy the view !! We decided to have coffee but there were no instructions as to how to use the machine so had to ring up reception at St Martin's House. Having made the coffee, we wanted to sit down but the only seat was a small round stool tucked under the side table. This was classified as a disabled room so why weren't there any chairs to sit on?? - had to perch on the edge of the bed which was not comfortable for my bad back !! Next we unpacked however, the wardrobe was virtually wholly taken up by an ironing board so that had to be removed into the bathroom. Inside the wardrobe were four wooden hangers so two each however, none had hooks on for skirts so I was unable to hang all my clothes up!! It was a good job we were only staying for two nights or we'd have had to put the ironing board to use!! The bathroom had a nice disabled toilet however, the sink unit was too low for my poorly back and there was no shelf nearby to place my toiletries. The shower was okay but the water was not contained within the shower area and completely covered all the floor which meant we trod the water in and out of the bedroom. also, would prefer to have my own little bottles of handwash etc. Our friends were in rooms along the corridor and one was on the top floor so we wanted to leave our door on the latch so we didn't have to get up to let them in but the door wouldn't allow us. I also wanted to blow my nose but there were NO tissues supplied!!?? Our friends had similar niggles with their rooms although at least they all had chairs to sit on!! Unfortunately, the friend in the upstairs room couldn't immediately find her room as there were no directions on the wall as to where the rooms were.
Quiet part of the city opposite the Cathedral but only a few steps from bars, restaurants. Parking on site. Coffee machine in room!
TV seemed to be stuck on ITV!!
Such a quiet pretty area right in the centre of the city. The staff were vrry pleasant and helpful. Upgraded to a junior suite which was a lovely well appointed room.
Apparently there was a missing dressing gown and after we had left we were asked if we gad it. Not accused but made us feel uncomfortable. We did not take anything and did not use the one dressing gown we saw. A shame!
Great central location, helpful sign-in staff and a wonderful room that felt like someone created it with care and attention to detail.
Nothing
Location, privacy and quiteness.
the lighting in the room was not great and the room felt cramped, smaller than i expected.
Room was very stylish and clean with nice added touches (like biscuits, bottled water and fresh milk). Lovely big bath towels and a very comfy bed. Location was great, walking distance to lovely bars and restaurants. Access was easy and the parking was fantastic. Staff were very helpful and friendly.
Sadly we could not have a hot shower, as we only had cold water. We showered around 10am, and I assume the property is on a hot water tank and so, we may have been some of the last to shower. This was very disappointing. The property is lovely but quite noisy. We were on the first floor and footsteps from the floor above were very loud. There doesn't seem to be any sound insulation. The room was very hot and, although we were supplied with a fan, it seemed stuffy at times.
Central and walking distance to a lot of places.
Room was too small and very warm.
Superb location and comfort.
Parking included in the city centre.
