The location is super convenient, minutes from the motorway and a short walk into Gretna itself. There's a very cute cafe nearby, just across the road which serves a delicious breakfast. The room was spacious and as described at the point of booking. Check in was straightforward and the receptionist was friendly and welcoming. The gardens/grounds are absolutely stunning, lovely to stretch our legs in after a long drive. The shower was hot and with decent water pressure.
The hotel felt quite tired and in need of some TLC. \Our room was generally clean and comfortable, but small things like the shower didn't drain properly (so we had to take very prompt showers to avoid flooding the bathroom), the hot/cold labels on the taps fell off when you turned the tap on, there were holes in the siding around the bath and shower. No plugs anywhere near to the bed (inconvenient but not the end of the world) and no mini-fridge in the room (it wasn't promised/expected, and we stored our fridge-able items on the windowsill which worked fine).
It was so near the motorway for travel but you didn’t even hear it from the hotel, it was extremely clean and lovely breakfast and lovely revamped decor but keeping the older building charm and large rooms
Only thing my husband found was they didn’t ask how you wanted steak cooked and meats were definately on the over cooked stage
Everything
Nothing
Comfortable and welcoming
Nothing!
It was a little far out of the area we wanted to be near
Bit dated and freezing at night ~ smelt of cigarette smoke as you walked in
Staff were smoking in the entrance area to where customers were walking into ~ bit disappointed to see this 😳
Nice clean room
A bit tired dock
The Chase was in a perfect location for us to reach along amenities and break up our journey .
The greeting we received was warm and welcoming and we appreciated and early check-in.
The room was spacious and perfect and we had a excellent evening meal with great service and food was tasty and good quality....wife loved sticky toffee pudding!
Breakfast was good and again warm and good service with a smile.
No complaints here
Walkable distance to retail outlet and 40 minutes to the church
Slight issue on Saturday morning g with availability of breakfast which appeared to be a staffing issue. Sunday breakfast was fine
Food was excellent,
Nothing
The evening bar staff lady was professional
No hot water until the following morning.
Staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. A nice relaxed atmosphere. First time in two years that I've stopped here and nothing has changed in terms of quality or service.
Nothing. This is a "go to" stop over for me, found by accident but highly recommended. Rooms are dated but well maintained and to a level that shouldn't put anyone off.
