An overnight stay during a week-long walk in the Peaks.
Pros:

This is a very smart and comfortable place to stay in Tideswell. The staff were very welcoming and offered us a complimentary drink from the bar on our arrival. The rooms are spacious, modern and the breakfast choices were excellent.
I would happily stay here again.

Great find. Amazing staff, good food, clean and modern interiors
Pros:

What a great find! Really friendly staff, nice food, clean and modern. Would recommend!

Cons:

The windows in our room were velux roof lights which meant we couldn’t leave them open overnight as it did rain. Just meant the room was a bit hot as there was no air con. There was a fan so would be fine for most but I just struggle to sleep with a fan on.

A great place to choose to stay whilst we explored the surrounding countryside. Highly recommended.
Pros:

Room was well appointed. Need to know that there would be no view (Rm4). Good breakfast and lovely staff made for a good feel about the place. The decor was interestingly fitting to the history of the building and to very good effect.

Cons:

We did not like the polyester pillows, preferring feather.

Mixed experience - some great but others poor
Pros:

The room was lovely and the breakfast was great. The member of staff serving breakfast was great.

Cons:

We booked a room with a large double bed and a sofa bed thinking the sofa bed would be more comfortable than the camp beds that are available in the cheaper rooms. The bed was great but the sofa bed was awful. My daughter and I slept very poorly on it as the mattress was so thin. I think for the extra expense for that room they should at least invest in a decent mattress. The food in the evening wasn’t anywhere near as good as the breakfast and the sandwiches that came with the afternoon tea were dried out which was disappointing. If we stayed again we would just have bed and breakfast and we would only return if the sofa bed had a better mattress.

Pros:

Absolutely loved the style of the rooms and decor. Very industrial chic. The bath and shower were amazing. High ceilings with electric operated skylight which detected when it was raining outside and closed automatically which we thought were amazing. Comfy bed. The room was clean, tidy and spacious.
Now the restaurant. Couldn't fault this side at all. The food was second to none. We had the Sunday lunch with the beef sirloin and chicken which we enjoyed massively. All the veg were cooked to perfection as well 👌 We finished with an interesting grilled pineapple based dessert that was to die for, such a well balanced flavoursome dish. Just the kind of light sweet you need after a big sunday lunch. Would definitely recommend. Breakfast was also amazing, full English for both. Our first time trying derbyshire oat cakes too and something we'll definitely to recreate at home in the future. The two rosettes are well deserved. All the staff that served us were fantastic too, service was on point. Honestly Id come back here just for the restaurant alone.
