Very good value for money; would definitely recommend.
Pros:

Room was very spacious, clean and perfect location. Staff were very friendly.

Cons:

Room was extremely hot when we arrived and for the first 2 days - radiator was on full blast and couldn’t turn it down, had to sleep with the windows open. The next day the radiator was completely off with no heat.

Excellent, thoroughly enjoyed our time at The Castle
Pros:

Room very comfortable, spacious and clean. Staff all very friendly. Good choice of food on the menu. Cooked breakfast excellent. Bar and restaurant area very relaxing. Location excellent for us as we could do our planned walking routes direct from the accommodation. Richard and his team made our stay very memorable.

Cons:

A mirror in front of the desk area (if desk was moved across from under the TV) would have been useful and also a bit more lighting. I’m tall and struggled using the hair dryer in front of the tall mirror as the plug socket was down near the floor and the cable was quite short. Not a major problem but may be worth a few tweaks for future visitors.

Pros:

Amazing food, perfect location. Over the moon with this as a cheap stay it exceeded expectations. Cosy, quaint, I want to live here!

Pros:

Great spot and cool building.

Cons:

Bar staff were competent but did nothing for the atmosphere. Food service staff really nice but food itself nothing more than ok (generally overcooked).

Good value great location some food cooking quality issues
Pros:

Very hospitable and friendly staff. Great value for the quality of the room. Cosy comfortable pub. Food is not too expensive. Room and bathroom clean and cosy. Public areas like the bar and seating areas are comfy and cosy.

Cons:

Difficult to park as not many spaces. Food was ok rather than great. Food tasted nice but was often over cooked. Staff not well trained on wine knowledge and 3 of our wine selections were not available. Radiator knocking noise all through the night (Room 16). Probably not an issue in warmer months as wouldn’t be needed.

Pros:

Comfy bed, spacious room, good shower. Great location. Nice breakfast & great being able to have a drink or another meal in the pub, which was also lovely. Friendly, helpful staff too.

A warm winter welcome
Pros:

Location, warmth of staff, comfy room, really excellent dinner.

Cons:

Lack of fruit at breakfast and very hard, over heated pain au chocolate! Otherwise food was excellent
