The lodge was brilliant and had everything we needed…but we were a 3 and I can’t imagine being an 8 there.

The staff were friendly and the location was super and so were the general surroundings. The spa was excellent and the pool was impressive. I would lose the restaurant roof and turn the atrium into an outside space. Internal room on courtyard is a load of
There was no Bar as such - it was almost makeshift and the restaurant was souless and gloomy and felt like a student union. The meal was awful - beef was like leather and the mash was like window putty. I resented paying £25.00 or thereabouts for this. The rooms was out dated and bathroom just old and mouldy. There weren't enough people paying attention to the queues at reception.
Comfortable bed.
The key to our room did not work once in our four night stay. We had to keep returning to reception to get it reset. I am disabled so this was very difficult for me.
The room and bathroom looked tired with mould on the tiles and a big blob of stain on the bedroom carpet.
Breakfast were nice although we came down towards the end of serving times each morning! But this wasn't a problem for the staff (even came down with a few mins before closing on the Sunday) but this wasn't an issue for the kind team who sat us down and took care of us. We really enjoyed the pool, they had maintenance as we arrived in the steam room, but was up and running the following day, which I'm glad about as this was our favourite spot!

All electrical equipment in my room had out of date Portable Appliance Tests with labels out of date.
Iron was faulty and nearly electrocuted me causing burns to my shirt. I then had no power in my room for the rest of the night and because the hotel was fully booked they could not move me to another room.
The rooms were comfy and clean.
The pulse restaurant was a bit too open for my liking, and there weren't prices on the main menu, the food was nice though but I just felt uneasy not knowing the price of food at the time of choosing. Also the swimming pool/wet room was very busy the both times I staying this week, a lot of males using the sauna/steam room and it made me feel a bit uncomfortable, especially as I booked the hotel mainly because of the spa facilities. Also the chlorine levels were high and my eyes really hurt soon after going into the jacuzzi both the Thursday and the monday of staying at this hotel.

Beautiful setting, very relaxing so much room in the bedroom and bathroom. It was nearly as big as my whole upstairs.

Beautiful location, spacious rooms
The dining area was understaffed. On both days the hot food was running low at breakfast although it was restocked we had to wait around. Cups for hot drinks were in short supply. The hot food could have been better labelled and the area was cramped. The staff were working very hard and were polite but they needed more support. We had dinner on the first evening. We preordered the food as we were a large group but had to wait over half an hour from the set time for it to arrive.
Reception staff are good in terms of greeting guests.
The room was not up to standards expected, the restaurant and breakfast staff were very poor service and some staff rude not wanting to accommodate anyone in restaurant. Ordered room service breakfast for 8.30am it didn't arrive waited until 9.35am before going down to breakfast to enquire what was going on with my room service breakfast and they were only just preparing it over 1 hour later. On the evening prior in restaurant I was informed by a very abrupt female waitress they could not accommodate me for a meal as they had large bookings later. They then said abrupt if you order now and sit in bar we can serve you. Totally made to feel un welcome for any service. Room was tired I decor overall very poor.
The lodges were fantastic. We were staying for a family weekend away & they fitted our needs brilliantly. They were extremely comfortable & in a beautiful location.
The food & staff in the clubhouse were also of great quality.
The only one down side was the hotel restaurant. We ate brunch in the clubhouse. Here the staff were friendly & welcoming. The food in the clubhouse was made to order & very tasty. We had a highly enjoyable experience.
By contrast, our evening booking was moved to the hotel restaurant. The food here was more typical of a budget hospitality chain; not particularly tasty & felt like it had been mass produced & microwaved. The staff were also less welcoming - asking us to order individually & as quickly as we could.
