Grand, old world charm.
Pros:

Great location. Relaxed lounge and garden. Grand rooms and classy decor

Cons:

Pay the extra for a decent room. The entry- level room we stayed in was cramped. The bigger rooms were amazing though (we had a sneaky look)

Enjoyed our stay very much.
Pros:

Hotel was characterful and the staff were really eager to help. We had an excellent evening meal in the Shack - perfect for our large group.

Cons:

Food was generally great (see above), including the breakfast. Only complaint was breakfast coffee was terrible! It seemed to be instant coffee made in a french press.

The area in the countryside was beautiful , easy to access and finding lots of beautiful places.....

Cons:

The hotel was dirty , the sheets hadn't been changed so we asked for another room straight away which they gave us . That was just as dirty if not worse the toilet was disgusting, the shower had pubic hairs up the walls , I asked for it to be cleaned whilst we were out , we got back quite late to find it hadn't been cleaned so we went and bought cleaning products to clean the toilet and. Shower as there wasn't another room. I asked four times to speak to the owner or a senior only to be told there was no one to be seen .
In the morning after sleeping in our clothes we were given a 3rd room which the maid who was standing there when I complained to a lady giving out shifts for cleaning , She said she would clean our room and bleach both the shower and the toilet and fresh bedding , I took pictures as proof of the rooms to show the manager but we were told they were not on site today .
I definitely would not revisit or advise anyone else to visit it either it truly was disgusting even though the cups weren't clean definitely not worth the 6 hours to get there , and definitely not worth the money we paid for it...

Pros:

The room was amazing

I would use this hotel again.

Good location

Cons:

Struggled with hot water in the shower. Staff said to run hot and cold taps at same time due to age of the building. The hot water worked eventually. Maybe a note in the room of what to do.

Had a workman outside the room on a lift hammering and drilling at 8 30pm.
After a polite word with reception the work stopped.

Cons:

The shower wasn't draining due to it being blocked and it took a while to get hot in the evening. Only issue otherwise enjoyed our stay :)

Be sure you don’t stay in any room facing the road/ next door pub.
Pros:

Very good breakfast service. Good parking.

Very noisy environment. No one would be able to sleep in that room. Dirty room. Dirty towels from previous customer. Tacky interior.

The location and the main areas looked modern. Breakfast was included, and reasonable quality.

Cons:

On arriving we were given a twin room when we had booked a superior double. We came back down to be greet by the receptionist to say let me check on another room. He then had a a key over for a room with a double bed. It was even smaller and not a superior. Back down stairs again. This time he smiled when I said that is not a superior. He made a song and dance that he would have to call his manager. After lots of messing around he said we have a superior on the top floor. We got in there. It was bigger. The toilet in this room was awful. When you sat on it you also sat on the bath at the same time. (No I am not a big fat person.) then the shower. I have seen more water come out of a watering can. Terrible. The bathroom looked like something out of a 1970 adult movie. We booked the hotel as it had a swimming pool. When asking about the pool the same receptionist laughed and said it’s an out door pool we don’t pay to heat it at this time. We only booked it for that reason. We feel duped, miss led and frankly had we not have complained about the room we would not have got what we paid for which in the end was below par!!

Pros:

The location is very good, and the large parking area is a great bonus and very convenient for guests.

Cons:

Rooms were very dusty and the carpet floors were dirty. As someone with allergies, I had a very difficult experience staying here for two nights. You could clearly feel that the room had not been cleaned properly for some time. The overall condition of the room felt tired and not well maintained.
