Great value, friendly staff and lovely and clean.
Pros:

Warm lovely fire roaring in the hearth as we walked in. Lovely clean room. Nice friendly staff. Our breakfast was lovely as was our evening meal.

Cons:

The bathroom was very small but it wasn’t a big problem. The water took a long time to heat but to be honest I’m being picky.

Pros:

Nicely decorated room, comfortable bed. Hotel well situated in centre of the town with large car park. Shower in room was excellent (once the water was hot!). Lovely towels and plenty of storage space and lots of hangers. Scrambled eggs at breakfast were excellent.

Cons:

Reception on arrival by young member of staff was very basic, with minimal information given, similarly no information booklet in room. It would have been a good idea to warn us of the need to run the water for at least 15 minutes before it would be hot enough for the shower. Heated water in the kettle for the wash basin as it was easier. Breakfast was very, very basic and (admittedly as we appeared to be the only guests) it was served on a coffee table in the very large lounge area. This was most uncomfortable. Surprised to see the table setting was a pot of yoghurt topped with a banana - rather unusual!

Great location and nice to relax after work meeting
Pros:

Nice large twin room. Lovely breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff

Cons:

It took a long time for hot water to reach shower but for the size and age of the hotel it was understandable.

Cons:

Inattentive staff reception not manned. Ended up phoning the hotel from reception to get served
Room - power socket detached from the wall - clear hazard
no plug in bathroom sink
Only terrestial TV available
floor nail sticking out of the floor through the carpet -clear hazard
Dining room had large cobwebs all around the room showing a lack of cleaning over a protracted period
Breakfast buffet self service food was luke warm

Pros:

Location was great for what we were doing, staff were really nice & friendly- easy to talk to.

Cons:

I spoke to staff on the phone before booking & was told my room would have a double bed unless requested.
I did fill this out on my booking notes & arrived to 2 single beds.

Disappointing, expected better for the price.
Pros:

The staff were very nice.

Cons:

Booked a double room but got a room with two single beds pushed together, with a small double duvet inside an enormous loose cover. The duvet wasn't even wide enough for the bed. Also the sheet wasn't tucked in properly, had to unmake and then remake the entire bed, and it wasn't very comfortable, due to the hard ridge caused by the bed edges down the middle, and the tiny pillows inside huge pillow covers. Couldn't get any hot water out of hot tap (not even lukewarm) so had to boil kettle to wash at night.

well worth a visit
Pros:

Our room was very well equipped with cotton sheets and towels. It had an iron and ironing board and coffee / hot drinks maker. The breakfast menu was extensive and in the evening the restaurant served good food at a very reasonable price.

Poor value for money.
Cons:

The beds were think camp bed type mattresses. The room was tired and the bathroom reminded me of an old hospital.

The hotel is clearly in need of a refurb and looks tired and poorly maintained.

Booked a room with a double bed .The double bed was 2 single beds pushed together which is not a double bed as advertised.

Brilliant hotel & lovely staff - highly recommend.
Pros:

Lovely hotel in a central location. The owners & staff were amazing. The hotel is extremely well presented & maintained & the whole hotel is decorated to a very high standard. Absolutely delicious breakfast. Thanks to Andrea, Tony & Jake for a fantastic stay. We will definitely be back!
