We have stayed here twice on our extended tour of the UK and the Solo has an amazing location. Very central to the city amenities and the view cannot be beat. The food in the pub/restaurant downstairs cannot be beat. The full breakfast is amazing and the tapas for dinner are excellent.
The rooms are advertised as soundproof, but the windows of the historic building are understandably old so there is a fair amount of noise that comes through. Also, there was a wedding or something happening the Saturday of our stay, which we were not informed of. The music came through loud and clear until midnight. It would have been nice to be informed ahead of time, or perhaps provided with earplugs.

Comfortable bed and spacious room
It was far too many floors up than I could manage easily but I was not pre warned of this. The cook was late arriving in the morning.
The room was clean and nicely decorated. The bathroom was also very nice. Twin beds comfortable. The staff were very good. Excellent service at breakfast, good choice of food very tasty.
Some noise from the street untill after midnight. Couldnt get the fan to work.
Water from taps is very hot mind you don't get scolded.
Beautiful property at a perfectly central location. Staff was amazingly kind. The phone was broken so one of the staff used her phone to call us a taxi and saved us.
The room was very hot but fans were provided. We turned off the radiator as it was turned to max during a heatwave. 😆 But all in all an amazing stay.
The location was good, beautiful decor, well cleaned, good facilities in the room.
Room was small, difficult to work out ceiling fan without the lights on, room was very warm opened the window to get cool air however was very noisy due to being such a central location.

The fact that we were in in an Air B&B down the road from the hotel and this wasnt made clear on the booking..
Lovely rooms, clean and bright with plenty of room for a couple and our 5 year old. Comfy bed, great shower and tea and coffee in the room. Also had a great evening meal at The Solo restaurant next door.

Nice comfortable rooms. Clean, modern and reasonably priced within walking distance to plenty of great bars and restaurants.
Could benefit from more storage in bedrooms and bathroom. Was disappointed in the bar closed so early on a Friday night with staff making it very obvious that they wanted us to leave before 11pm but thankfully Wetherspoons was close by.
