It was a pleasant stay. But when we come back later in the year with our 4friends we won’t stop with purely because brea
Pros:

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Especially Tracey who in the very hot weather loaned us her own fan from here flat . Because our room was quiet small and warm

Cons:

On the website and on the in room information it said breakfast was till 9am but when we checked in we were told 8am and this was very inconvenient.

Lovely pub, nice rooms, great location
Pros:

The location was great, the clientele were great, the outside courtyard was beautiful

Cons:

The room was absolutely boiling hot, with the temperature so hot outside there was no way of cooling the room down, I asked for a fan but there wasn’t any. I had to sleep with a wet cold towel on me all night to try and stay cool. In the morning I was told the heating was on!

The place to stay for exploring the Wolds (biking and hiking in my case).
Pros:

Just what I was looking for when I booked. Wanted a room attached to a pub and near the town center. The room was sizeable and the bed comfortable. There was plenty of room to unpack with more than enough hangars in the wardrobe. I showed up early and had to call for assistance but once connected, they stored my bag which allowed me to embark on an extra excursion. About 200m from the bus station and plenty of parking should it be needed. Turns out it is on the Viking Way (out the back door across the car park), so easy to do a walk into the surrounding countryside, the Wolds, which are the reason to visit Horncastle. Being in the town center also made it easy to rent a bike from the bike shop which was about 300m away. Food in the pub was tasty and the staff pleasant.

Cons:

Could have used a small fan. Two other of my stays provided one and it made a big difference.

Short Stay Over
Pros:

Good location, restuarant food good. Polite staff and lovely breakfast
Clean room

Cons:

The double bed was too hard and very uncomfortable. Also the room was very hot with no fan to help in the exceptionally hot weather we experienced. The windows were full of cobwebs and spiders and the old sashes didn't stay up very well and kept slipping down.

Pros:

Perfect location and a decent nightly rate. Breakfast was good. Check in was good with friendly staff.

Cons:

Room didnt have a fan which made it very uncomfortable.
Bathroom needed a good clean, numerous thick cobwebs, especially around light fitting. Shower was dirty, significant black mould build up around all seals and joints.
Overall the bathroom was extremely tired and required some attention.
