Staff were exceptional; the breakfasts were great but slow to arrive; drinks and prices were great. For the type of property it is it was exceptional so there is nothing to complain about. Good value. Recommended by myself and my 3 friends - we had 3 rooms! Regards, Ben
Unfair question really to me; I think for the type of property it is and the location it is at there is nothing to say here. I suffer with mobility issues and other medical conditions and it is not the best property for such travellers but I was able to cope and enjoyed my stay fully. Regards, Ben
Location
Loud music out side noise outside in the drinking area
Excellent access from rail, specifically for NEC.
No noise from bar area at all
Really good value for money and definitely would use again.
Bathroom was a very tight squeeze as door.didn't fully open.
Very hot as no air con or fan.
Near to where we needed to be and bed was clean and comfy.
Shower was disgusting and silver fish insects all over bathroom floor when went to toilet in the night.
Location was brilliant straight onto the train line for the NEC. Staff were friendly on arrival. Ease of access on the side gate avoiding the pub. Good sized room.
Whilst the location was close to amenities nothing was open on arrival at friday evening, and the local area left much to be desired. The room itself was hot on arrival as expected during a heatwave, however without air con this meant the windows had to be kept open, this brought with it a large amount of noise and smells from the pub downstairs which seems to be a favourite of the locals. The bathroom wasnt as clean as it could have been with litter from the previous occupiers, and the size was far too small. It was difficult for a broad person to enter or exit the shower. The bed duvet was far too thick for the weather so perfect for winter but dubious for summer.
Good location, easy to access. Staff were helpful and looked after bag while I went into Birmingham.
Beds were soft and comfortable. Room had a large light on ceiling, which not every place does.
There was an alternative access route to the rooms if you wanted to avoid going through the pub.
Room was warm and with the windows open to cool it down, traffic noise majorly reduced the quality of my sleep.
Lack of a mixer tap in the sink meant risk of scalding if you used hot tap.
No glasses for water and the kettle was hard to fill in the small sink.
Noise in pub for DJ night led to me going elsewhere to eat.
Unfortunately I didn’t end up staying. I had my children with me who were 10 years old and their anxiety went through the roof, walking to the room through the alleyway there were drug packets all over the floor. When we went to go and get some chicken from the shop for dinner, there was all drug users all on the streets and a lady was getting a needle out and my son just started to cry. He felt so so scared so we ended up packing our stuff and going straight home and not staying for the night. When we got there and I went into the pub to book in, I was greeted by a drunk man. The music was very very loud and I just fell on edge from the minute I got in there.
Location.
1) No internet which affected two days of my remote work. Tried fixing issue with manager for hours but nothing worked. During my entire stay of 3 days despite being told issue will be fixed quickly there was no internet. See picture.
2) Cleanliness issue. The toilet floor was unclean and shower cubical including shower head had mould. Coffee stain marks on the walls. Carpet was vacuumed in a hurry, could feel little pieces on feet. See pictures.
3) Dodgy and unclean path of entrance to rooms. See pictures.
Dees what it says on the tin
The loud banging of the doors when someone slams it open or closed.
