Absolutely awful experience. I would never stay at this hotel again.

The room itself was already in very poor condition — damaged and tired-looking walls, uncomfortable beds and generally a very neglected feel. However, all of that became completely irrelevant compared with what happened during the night.

I woke up because my body was itching. When I lifted the duvet, I noticed a blood stain near my daughter’s legs and then discovered BED BUGS crawling on the bed. I have several videos clearly showing the bugs crawling around the bedding.

From that moment, there was absolutely no possibility of going back to sleep. We were horrified. We packed our belongings and left because I was terrified of bringing bed bugs back into our home.

I was left covered in small red bites all over my body. I am due to go on holiday and now feel extremely uncomfortable even wearing clothes that expose my skin because the bites are so visible. This experience has caused far more inconvenience than simply having a bad night’s sleep — we also had to take precautions with all our clothes, luggage and belongings because of the risk of bringing an infestation home.

What makes the situation even more ridiculous is that the room cost around £70, yet I was also required to pay a £50 security deposit in case we damaged anything. Considering the condition the room was already in, this felt unbelievable.

There was also an additional £10 charge per cat, which I accepted, but compared with finding bed bugs in the bed, that is honestly the least of my concerns.

I have never experienced anything like this in a hotel before. Finding bed bugs crawling in the bed where my daughter and I were sleeping, seeing blood on the bedding and leaving covered in bites was absolutely disgusting and distressing.

I have video evidence of the bed bugs and photographs of the bites. I would strongly expect the hotel to investigate this room immediately and provide a full refund for our stay.

Remember it’s a pub so expect some noise. Bathroom very dated with mould.

I didn’t realise when booking that the entrance to the accommodation was through the bar, as i had assumed it would be a separate entrance. This was particularly uncomfortable for me with a child, especially on a busy night when there were drunk men standing around the doorway.

The family room itself needs a little more attention to detail. Both mattresses were broken, with springs digging in while we slept, making for an uncomfortable night’s sleep. The window also needs replacing, as it was broken and wouldn’t close properly.

A few repairs and improvements would make a big difference to the overall experience. However, price-wise, it was good value for money.

Rude staff at breakfast

One of our two rooms had a wet floor and smelled like mildew. They also advertised food but weren’t serving anything during our visit.

The heater was hanging off the wall, the shower had mould on the ceiling and in the grouting.
The toilet flusher was broken, the toilet seat was ill fitting.
The people above me and next door were really noisy thumping around,slamming doors and someone even tried to come into my room good job it was locked.

No room cleaning, bed making or change of sheets and towels

Listen more to customers, as I requested something that other guests might not do as part of the housekeeping duties because of my special timetable scheme but they did not grant it.

Booked and when I got there it was in the ghetto where I couldnt possibly park my van safe ... tried to cancel 10 mins later and was made to pay a £41 cancellation fee , that was at their own discretion , absolute joke of a place i would avoid if you want to feel safe dont stay here
