Wonderful hotel in a fabulous village. So much interesting history.
Pros:

Loved the history and the structure of the building, staff were great, food was excellent.

Cons:

Bit of traffic noise at night but were given ear plugs. Wasn’t that bad but given the lovely village was a bit of a surprise.

A wonderful hotel in Britain's prettiest village
Pros:

Wonderful building to explore in the heart of Lavenham. Free parking and spa on site (which we didn't use). Excellent evening meal in the amazing beamed restaurant, with very attentive staff and lovely background piano music. Breakfast also held there with a good range of food and hot options cooked to order. Our room was very clean and quiet with a smart bathroom and all the toiletries you need. Love the handmade ceramic mugs, tray and tea/coffee containers.

Cons:

Nothing really. It was quite an adventure along passage ways and ducking under tiny doorways to get to reception and the restaurant. Not a problem for us but could be if visitors have mobility issues.

A well run hotel/comfortable.
Pros:

Staff were attentive especially whilst we were enjoying some nibbles from the lounge menu downstairs by reception.

Cons:

The room we had was at the top of the staircase, people coming up and down the stairs, conversations outside of the room from other guests, banging doors and children playing outside the room, running up and down the corridor.

Apart from the above it was absolutely fantastic in a stunning location.
Pros:

The location & cleanliness. A touch of luxury & room was fantastic.

Cons:

We had a rather unfortunate experience in the restaurant when a guest’s dog was sick. Not the dogs fault as the owners were feeding her rich food. However, I feel dogs shouldn’t be allowed in the actual restaurant. The rooms & bar fine. The staff dealt with the situation very professionally & couldn’t apologise enough. It was purely the fault of the owners & they didn’t even offer to clean it up. They walked away & left your staff to deal with it. Not the sort of thing we expected when we were paying good money for our meal to celebrate my husbands birthday & retirement.

Thoroughly enjoyable from start to finish.
Pros:

Everything ! The food and service and ambience were all excellent. The absence of piped pop music in the dining room was greatly appreciated. So many hotels spoil the experience by playing music that is not to everyone's taste. At the Swan Hotel, Lavenham, they got it right.

Cons:

There is nothing to complain about - this hotel is very well run and all staff members were immensely courteous at all times. Other hotels could learn from the Swan experience.

Pros:

Lovely hotel and location. My room was stunning.

Cons:

Unfortunately when I went down for breakfast by myself, it took approximately 1hr to get my coffee & breakfast. The staff were polite, however they forgot to put my Coffee through 3 times and when I asked for a cooked breakfast but to have no mushrooms, the breakfast came with mushrooms on the plate. Unfortunate as the staff were polite and apologised.
