A lovely stay in a gorgeous hotel.
Pros:

We liked the friendly and welcoming staff. The lounge area is a relaxing space for a tea or coffee and the rooms are clean and full of character. The turn down service is a nice touch

Cons:

We were disappointed with the Airman’s Bar. Every time we went there we had an issue of some kind,
Including the beer not being kept very well, no lime cordial, no peanuts, staff lacking basic knowledge about the drinks they were serving.
At breakfast when we asked for some bread to go with the ham and cheese platter we were presented with half a toasting loaf.
The Swan is a lovely, characterful and historic hotel, I feel that the staff were not really up to the standard it deserves. That’s not to say anybody was rude or unhelpful, I just felt that basic training and knowledge was lacking. Come on Swan, you can do better!

Really lovely , but a bit tired and not the best for the money
Pros:

Location is great. Staff very friendly. Lovely old world charm, very unique.

Cons:

It’s just getting tired around the edges. Decor, furnishings, carpets, furniture etc all a bit dated and areas not quite as well maintained.

Pros:

Nice traditional style hotel. Good food but the menu was a bit limited. Nice large comfortable room but the en-suite was a bit small.

Cons:

Our room was ground floor and below the staircase so unfortunately we could hear people stomping up and down the stairs throughout the night.

Not worth the cost. Young poorly trained staff.
Pros:

The history and location.

Cons:

Could have been cleaner. No attempt to combat the flies in the bar, and restaurant. Many areas visible from the corridors need cleaning up.

Very relaxing. Will definitely go back.
Pros:

You step back in time here to a bygone age, it’s like going through a portal. People are friendlier, less rushed and not stressed. The service was first class and the food was excellent.

Cons:

Loved everything

Very pleasant hotel, with good friendly staff.
Pros:

The welcome was good and help with the bags provided and also parking in the dedicated hotel car park across the road behind the Coop explained. Dinner was good, friendly service, likewise breakfast.

Cons:

The room was comfortable but a tad small and felt slightly cramped although as it was only one nights stay not any great problem.
