A lovely welcoming accommodation
Pros:

Stayed 1 night and would definitely stay again
Very friendly staff . Room was very clean and tidy nice and cosy.
Food was excellent and the bar was very traditional ..

A gem and good value away from the tourist season.
Pros:

Rooms set away from the busy road which is good. Decor and freshness of rooms many times better than the usual for this sort of pub/inn. In-house catering was good, without going off the beaten track of pub grub at the ‘new normal’ £20-25 for mains. Staff excellent. Everything worked.

Cons:

No criticisms except merely to note that the hot water tap pressure was very low.

Overnight Stay whilst visiting friends in Abingdon.
Pros:

The location is rural, however if you have a car then you can go into town. The Hotel is also on bus route, liked having a cooked breakfast made to order.

Cons:

During the night it was raining and you could hear the noise of the water flowing from the roof onto the ground ar the back of the bloke that houses the bedrooms. Guttering to take the rainwater away from the roof would help with the noise problem.

Excellent cosy and relaxing stay great value for money

my only negative was bathroom is in need of a little updating and I would have liked more milk for my coffee in the morning nothing major at all 👍

Lovely.
Pros:

I liked everything about the room which was very comfortable. I didn't have breakfast but I did have dinner and the food was lovely. I am sure I would have eaten more had I mean in company.

Cons:

The only thing I wasn't sure about was the lock on my room door. It was a bit tricky to close/lock but that might have been me more than the door itself.

The staff demonstrated friendliness and helpfulness, and I would describe them as fantastic young individuals. The pub food was delightful, and it is very convenient to have dining options just a short distance from your room.

Cons:

We had a peaceful and quiet stay during a winter month, but I anticipate that it may be quite noisy in the summer months when customers of the pub are seated outdoors.

The the water pressure from the shower was pretty low and it needs looking at in room four

Cracking value and lovely grub
Pros:

Excellent location, excellent value and excellent food. Staff very friendly. Nice room, warm and cosy.

Cons:

The shower was pathetic, hardly enough flow to get wet let alone wash of any soup suds. I found the mattress very uncomfortable (too soft) but I know these things are very much personal in preference.

Short break in Oxford
Pros:

Pretty location. Nearby garage and M and S supermarket. Easy access to city with park and ride at Redbridge. Plenty of parking near to the accommodation. Lovely food served in the pub. Two lads serving at the bar seemed to run the place. They were both friendly and polite. Comfortable beds. Wi-Fi worked well. Very quiet after 11 pm when the bar closed and the traffic on the main road died down.

Cons:

Rooms are very basic. Our room was small and decor was a little tired. No milk provided with tea making facilities. Bathroom door squeaked loudly. Toilet was stained with a wobbly seat. Grouting in shower was dirty. When sink tap turned on shower gurgled. Heated towel rail didn’t work. Towels were not replenished during our stay. No electricity on returning to our rooms on the last night. Staff were unsure when it might return so we decided to leave early. We didn’t stay on our last night. No refund given despite assurance from the manager he would make a refund. All polite reminders of this ignored. Shame really. It would have been nice to have been shown some good will.

Ideal - our overnight stay meals and the wake for our dear friends funeral was perfect.
Pros:

Breakfast was excellent. Staff were friendly and efficient. Location ideal for our purposes and the property itself a stunning example of an historic coaching inn.

A lovely experience.
Pros:

The food was exceptional, it was like fine dining, plenty of choice and a good portion. The room was clean and bright, the bed was large and comfortable. Lovely having water and toiletries provided and of a good quality. The staff were excellent very helpful and friendly, nothing too much trouble. We plan to visit again. A lovely experience
