Location
We had the same room that we had in November 2025. We raised comments on the very poor TV reception and the general condition of the room (No 9) which looked shabby. The toilet seat mounts were broken, and the carpet was well worn. Occupying the same room revealed the same issues (nothing has been done to improve those issues). The two redeeming items were a very good full English breakfast and good parking adjacent to the hotel
It was a beautiful venue and lovely pub!
The parking was difficult and no priority parking for people who are staying - the bathroom could have been a touch cleaner but overall great standards and beautiful room!
Location was great in the centre of Royston
Toilet seat broken , shower didn't work properly and wasn't fixed to the wall properly, noisy from 6am onwards , no drinking water provided , when I asked for drinking water I was given 4 small bottles and charged 12 pound . There were stains on the sheets . The room was very small and out dated . Definitely not worth the money.
Clean, comfortable, staff service was excellent
Everything was as expected
Staff were all very friendly and pleasant. Room was big and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was good. We had drinks and some food in the bar. The portions were HUGE! We would have stayed longer but had a party to go to.
Everything seemed very dated. The shower over the bath was terrible! The door codes to access the landing were tricky to master and why not use the same code for both doors? There was an unpleasant smell on the landing. Checkout at 10am is too early.
There was plenty of room in the apartment for 4 people
The facilities were very basic
Cracking old building with periods features
Sorry but the place is very worn and actually dirty
Friendly staff unpretentious
Small double bed
