Clean
The Noise. I was put in a room directly over the bar where they were hosting a Disco and got barely any sleep at all.
Upon arrival I was told my room can get a little noisy but if I wanted I could go and buy myself some earplugs?! Luckily I had some pretty good noise cancelling headphones which whilst uncomfortable to sleep in helped me eventually get to sleep after an hour. I was then woken up at 11:45 as they cranked up the music even louder for the end of the evening, to the point where my bed was vibrating from the subwoofers.
When I complained about it the hotel “failed to reach a resolution with booking.com” and I got no refund or compensation from the hotel themselves.
It’s outrageous that you can call yourself a hotel, take money to house people, then host a Disco in the middle of the night- WTF?
I imagine the whole hotel was fuming as it was full of people going to an event where we had to be up at 4am. Thanks for my 4 hours sleep before a race I had trained 6 months for, not.
Quite literally the worst night sleep of my life without exception.
I would upload a video of how loud it was in my room but reviews can sadly only have photos.
Super lovely attentive staff.
Everything was fine.
Helpful receptionist. Free parking. Bar serving food ensite.
The upgraded room had paper thin walls, very creaky floorboards (too much heavy furniture on them?) and THE most uncomfortable bed I have ever not slept in. I think both springs and mattress have done their full tour of active service and need retiring!
Breakfast was great. Plenty of choices and delicious . Dinner was delicious. There was a choice of small meals or large. Beware the large - huge 😅😅 The room was spacious with dressing table, armchairs, cupboards etc Very comfortable bed and clean sheets etc. The whole room was clean.
The decor was very ‘tired’. Very old windows that were draughty. The bathroom was large but again it needed decorating. One of the windows in there was in a seriously bad state. There was a note to say please do not open the window. Certainly there was no need because the wind and rain came in on the last night. The window looked on the verge of falling out and from our point of view it was actually dangerous. When I told the receptionist about it she said if we’d called the night porter he would have fixed it. He’d have needed a miracle tool kit. This window has obviously been in that state for some time.
Lovely quiet spacious room with what was required. Shower was hot & great Rose head which is what I like. Breakfast was cooked fresh & beautiful. Only issue room was cold on arrival & told to turn on heating which they did to wake up cold as they probably turned it off around midnight. In February expect heating on all night to my liking. Had a stinking cold as it was.
Central location in Camborne and free parking
Super friendly staff
Lovely modern bathroom
Rooms and beds ok, albeit in need of some modernising.
On site restaurant and bar both very good.
A bit of a noisy location due to central location but didn’t bother us. Slept fine.
Bedrooms a little tired but clean with comfy bed.
The room I was in was nice and big, though I was upgraded to a room with both a double and single bed!!
No spare toilet roll in case of emergencies or running out!!
Also the noisy ghost upstairs!!
Huge and beautiful room with a large comfy bed. Very quiet despite the noisy bar below. Staff super friendly and helpful. The pub/restaurant serves tasty food at a very good price. I would have expected something far more basic, given that it was advertised as three stars. Definitely deserves more!
Nothing
No hot water, broken window, mirror and TV. Light in bathroom not working.
Convenient location, plenty of room in the car park, pool table in the bar, friendly staff in bar, restaurant and reception.
Several steps to get to the top floor bedrooms, no lift.
