Location
Loud nightclub music thumping out till midnight
It was great to be back again
All was great
I was upgraded to the Bridal Suite which is a lovely large room with a 4 poster bed, bath and shower, quiet location at the back of the hotel. Breakfast was included in the room rate, and was very good value with a large buffet style breakfast on Saturday, served by the lovely Jenny. The location of the hotel is really good, within walking distance to everything, train station, bus station, high street, shops, cafes etc. The staff are all really friendly and helpful. I have stayed here before and will stay again, as it has a really welcoming homely atmosphere and as a single woman I felt very well cared for and comfortable.Dogs are allowed, which is great, as I would like to bring my dog with me next time. Room prices are very reasonable for this area. I must add, I slept really well as the mattress was so comfortable.
Nothing, everything was as I expected.
Easy no cost parking, large room very clean, comfortable bed, warm, great breakfast
Lighting in the room could be better
We had an excellent first night and breakfast the next morning. The room was excellent and all the staff very helpful.
Unfortunately there was a live band performing on our second night which was very loud. They were very good and did finish just before midnight, but if we had been warned it would have been helpful.
We ate both nights in the hotel and on the second night opted for steak, but unfortunately mine was completely inedible.
Comfortable bed and room. Good facilities. Excellent food. Lovely bathroom and shower
Windows single glaze.

Very convenient and easy to park. Staff were excellent.
Slightly noisy in the evening from music being played in the bar but this was a minor thing and didn’t disturb my sleep.
Very friendly staff. Good size rooms although a little dated. Especially the TV. Clean. And the food was excellent.
The rooms were a little dated and the tv was very small and dated
Wonderful reception, my dog was cherished. Breakfast was delicious. Jenny, the breakfast host and waitress was an very warm, helpful person who couldn't do enough for you. In fact all the staff were exceptional, including the gardener.
The location was just perfect for everthing, town centre 2 mins away and train station 10 min walk.
The staff were so helpful the food and breakfast was great.
Nothing.
The band was a bonus, outside space nice, room was massive would be ideal family room, staff very helpful and friendly
Room a bit dated but adequate.
Clean
The Noise. I was put in a room directly over the bar where they were hosting a Disco and got barely any sleep at all.
Upon arrival I was told my room can get a little noisy but if I wanted I could go and buy myself some earplugs?! Luckily I had some pretty good noise cancelling headphones which whilst uncomfortable to sleep in helped me eventually get to sleep after an hour. I was then woken up at 11:45 as they cranked up the music even louder for the end of the evening, to the point where my bed was vibrating from the subwoofers.
When I complained about it the hotel “failed to reach a resolution with booking.com” and I got no refund or compensation from the hotel themselves.
It’s outrageous that you can call yourself a hotel, take money to house people, then host a Disco in the middle of the night- WTF?
I imagine the whole hotel was fuming as it was full of people going to an event where we had to be up at 4am. Thanks for my 4 hours sleep before a race I had trained 6 months for, not.
Quite literally the worst night sleep of my life without exception.
I would upload a video of how loud it was in my room but reviews can sadly only have photos.
