Promised a lot but didn't really deliver.
Pros:

Location is beautiful and very handy for exploring different bits of the lakes. Room looked lovely and the shower was powerful.

Cons:

Parking is limited, arrive early. I contacted in advance to check they could accommodate dietary requirements they said they could but despite specifying on my request I'd like to order a vegan packed lunch and being told this was no problem on arrival they had no idea what to do for a packed lunch so I got a salad sandwich for £10. Breakfast has a very limited time or 8-9 am as I was meeting people for a hike at 8.30 15 mins away this meant a very rushed stressful morning though I wasn't able to stomach anything any way as the only dinner option had been a hot curry that left me with an upset stomach. The room was very hot and stuffy but the window had safety catches meaning it could hardly open so no way to cool down.

A lovely enjoyable stay, friendly staff and very good house keeping
Pros:

Breakfast was good , asking for beans made it even better.

Cons:

Thought the lamb henry meal was dry
And the butterfly chicken meal could have had a more leaky sauce it was a bit bland

Pros:

Loved staying here everything was clean and the staff were amazing. The food is really good and they have a lot of vegetarian options which is nice to see , parking on site is a big bonus too.

No AC/fans but it's hard to expect that in an old building

Fabulous break
Pros:

There was a good choice of dishes on the menu. The portion sizes were brilliant.

The superior room was very spacious. The classic double room was spacious too with great views of the fells.

The hotel is in an excellent place with plenty of walking trails in the village.

Great bus service to Keswick.
