Great location, good menu, comfortable rooms
Nothing come to mind
Room was fantastic, lovely location
Staff very friendly, great food, breakfast was freshly prepared and tasted great, evening meal was superb, lovely location, and very accommodating for our dog too.
Nothing
The Inn its self is Clean and tidy and old fashioned and this creates a lovely cosy atmosphere.
The food ordered from the menu on an evening is exceptional. We really enjoyed it and the portion sizes make it really good value.
Some staff were unprofessional on a morning in the breakfast dining area towards one other member of staff.
The ensuite in our room was very small and on my booking I booked a double room with one double bed but our room had an extra single bed so I think we may have been given the wrong room. Although to was comfortable and clean and tidy.
The breakfast is a little confusing, as full English doesn't include beans or black pudding, but these can be ordered as additional items. Unfortunately we did not know this as we were not told and we did not see any signs or literature stating this. We had realised after the first morning when we saw other guests with there items on their breakfast.
Everything.😃 Stayed here before many years ago and have visited for meals when in the area. It has been modernised/decorated and extended since I was last here. Our room was not in the main building, but just 100yds away. The full english breakfast was great and delivered very quickly. There are also veggie options plus cereals, fruit juices etc. The menu is varied and all the food is great, the portions are very large!! I would highly recommend this hotel.
We had to leave!!
Room was well suited to having 2 dogs and very clean. Breakfast was lovely and everyone so helpful and kind. We did stayed for dinner in the hotel and yes the bar area was busy which is great to see we where in the restaurant which suited it a lot better
Great location, incredible views, lovely staff, comfortable and clean room. Lovely roaring open fire in the bar.
There’s nothing we didn’t like. And when we did have any issues, the staff team sorted it very quickly for us
Location, bar areas, spacious room, price
Emptying buckets of bottles into the recycling area next to the room very early in the morning.
Poor breakfast sandwich.
The ambience, welcoming staff friendly atmosphere warm service food and choice of drinks
Room was always well stocked but had not been cleaned very well

Perfect Stay – Dog Friendly and Welcoming!
We had an absolutely perfect stay in the Lake District! The hotel was in a beautiful location, spotlessly clean, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. What made it even more special was how dog friendly everything was. Our dog was made to feel just as welcome as we were — from the hotel itself to the surrounding walks and local places, it was all very pet-friendly. It made our trip even more enjoyable knowing our furry friend could be part of it all. Highly recommended for anyone travelling with a dog!
Lovely location, cosy bar areas.
Room was a bit chilly
