Location, large bathroom car park close to room, setting
Bar area, lack of lounges,no ev charging despite in low emission zone, property in need of upgrading to make most of location
Family room was nice and big accompanied by a massive bathroom.
No toilet room no air conditioning. Dated appliances. Hand soap dispenser came of in our hand

It was beautiful, quiet, peaceful and perfect for what we needed
Room was a little dated, the carpet was balding in places and the shower was a bit faulty. But it really didn’t ruin the experience for us
While access to the room was by key, there was no means of locking or securing the door from within the room; no dead-lock, no security chain. The room was (as requested) away from the main building (part of the old gatehouse) - so personal security was non-existent. I was travelling alone and was able to move furniture to block the door. Had I been travelling with my wife there is no way on god's earth that we would have stayed in that room.
Bed was comfortable.
Shower was leaking/ dripping heavily. The noise caused us to sleep poorly. Hence we vacated the room before time.
Room was not ventilated.
Bed side wall light was flickering.
Shower was difficult to operate. Controls were difficult to set right.

Good location, great gatehouse place away from the main hotel, parking is also good. Barry in the gatehouse was beautiful and pillows and bed very comfortable
The only thing for me was the menu which I was ok but my wife being a vegetarian and pescatarian who can’t eat pasta or rice it was an issue
Beautiful building with lovely grounds. I loved walking round the lake and watching swans, geese and deer while having drinks and dinner. Staff were very polite and helpful. The building is furnished in a style reflecting its history which I liked and flower beds well tended. Our second room had a comfortable king size bed and the breakfast was good.
We had problems with our garden room on the first night (broken shower which flooded the bathroom) and staff upgraded us free of charge to a much nicer room in the house for our second night.
Generally the house was tired; cobwebs in the windows inside and out and communal area carpets were quite stained and a little shabby.
I found out on Google a bit about the history of the house which is very interesting if you like history. It might interest guests if there was some information dotted around the property.
The grounds were lovely
Very disappointing stayed there a few years ago and was wowed . Whole hotel very tired and unclean huge cobwebs and dirty carpets everywhere.
Was looking forward to an amazing meal like last time, unfortunately only now offers the bar menu which is very low quality everything out of packets and tins and thrown together not as menu describes !

Garden room had not been cleaned for a while. Very dusty.

In its day it would have been amazing.
Very tired and dated. Not particularly clean with stains on most carpets. One of the windows wouldn’t open and nothing was done. The dog friendly bit is a joke. After asking we got given dog treats and that was it. Not bowls, bed, etc.

Very tired, clearly attention to detail was not a priority, just didn’t impress on any level
Staff were lovely as was breakfast. The grounds were glorious. We even saw fish jumping in the lake. A wonderful experience.
We wanted a twin room but none was available so we had to share a bed. The decor was dated. A beautiful house but needs some updating.
